i think if we bid on something we should put down our maximum price we are willing to pay, then if another sees that their maximum willing is less there is no point bidding on it just to bump the price up for the other person.

e.g. if i bidded on an earthshaker max bid £15 but it only shows £5 you will know by bidding £10 all you are doing is pushing up how much i would have to pay, but if you were willing to pay £16 for it you know i wont be outbidding you because you already know what im willing to pay. does that make sense?
i think you are all starting to get pretty paranoid about that essexgirl. for all you know the private bidder could be one of us, or more likely someone with bad reputation who wants to keep it hidden. why would someone with such a high rating hide their bids?

the actual chance of an ebay seller deciding one day to search through the internet for chaos dwarfs, coming to this forum, reading through it, and deciding to foil our plans are rather slim. yes our information is public, but unless this seller is an avid chaos dwarf fan why would they visit this website and read through the forum in this much detail.

also that death rocket just looks like the white metal when they first started using that alloy.
thats why i always put a maximum bid in of 2 more minimum increments not long before an auction end, that way if someone does try sniping they still lose.

to be honest the easiest way to be successful at auctions is to be willing to spend more money than the other people. a lot of people cant afford to buy something for what its worth, which is why they pick ebay in the first place. I admit i get a lot of barains, like a goblin regiment sealed in box for £4 not so long ago, but for new items im willing to pay just under GW retail price, as its still cheaper.

isnt that 2000?! all metal!

im eyeing up them lords and an astragoth, but there gonna go for a high price

GIL - I bet you're eyeing up those wooden shoes (size 7).Big Grin

I might have a spare copy of that Chaos Dwarf rulebook coming soon if anyone desperately wants it.

The sad fact is that you will pay alot for Chaos dwarf models, unless you are extremely lucky. Thats why there all the conversions here at CDO. It prevents seeing alot of Chaos Dwarf armies around.
I wish GW would release the old CD figs again. That would majorly screw all these scalpers. Happy ( I can dream can't I?)

A common "goblin spear chukka worth £8" Happy - well done gil^  - I like that Cheers! Cheers!  But speaking of extortionist pricing though - I'll say that this item (the spear chukka Happy) is totally overpriced then Shock

£56!!! and those are quite commen in their boxes too?Respect to the Hat!
i dont think i would splash the cash on a lot that big without pictures of the models. of course if whats listed is correct then £150 isnt too bad for all that, then again you dont know what the reserve is.
