The long rumoured set has appeared at last.  I assume if its made it to sprue that it will be released.

Nothing immediately exciting, but any plastic dwarfs can be used...  Cheers!
Thanks Grim!

Looking at the sprue, I'm thinking that it probably won't be a lot more useful than our current conversion options, but it'll be nice to have more base models.
Some nice conversion bits there, but nothing that will have my credit card trembling in fear.
I cant really see what son the sprue so i dont know how good or bad its going to be. It will probably be good for converting. Cant wait to see what it looks like built.
Looks to me like enough to make the following:

4 lords/ thanes on foot (option for a BSB and oathstone)
or lord on shield (with shield bearers) and a thane/ BSB.

I don't see enough bits for a runesmith or engineer.

I wonder if they will include a 20mmx40mm base?
I doubt you will be able to make 4 models from it. Knowing GW recently you will only be able to make 1 with about 90% of the parts for 3 more.
Those two are definitely shield bearers.  You can see their arms hoisting something.

Good find Grim! (You can't stay away, can you? Tongue )

If nothing else, I will be able to order the good bits from The WarStore.

Meh. Not impressed, but I guess its good for an odd conversion or two.

Well... Im guessing the reason why the banner pole is so long is so that people can actually see it all over the battlefield. Not much sense in having a battle standard with such a short pole that no one can see it. Happy

I wouldnt say that. Apart from the chaos warriors what other plastic sets are nigh "un-convertable"? I really cant think of many. Im not really sure what peoples beef is with plastíc models, I for one love them. They detail level may not be as high as on some metal models but its damn clost to it.

I don't see what's wrong with this set or any of the plastic dwarfs. Even the skull pass dwarfs are quite nice miniatures IMO. The current plastic dwarfs are great IMO, because they include so many options.

I can't wait to see the WD article showing all the bits of the new dwarf lord set.

And the detail of plastic minis can be just as high as on metals. The New chaos Terminator lord is a great example. IMO, that's the best plastic kit GW has ever produced. Ogres are damn nice too.

Thanks

I have never seen the orc sprues, so I can't comment on them. I just made an assumption based on the fact that they're not wearing skirts.

To respond to Cornixt, in the Good Old Days ™ there weren't just a few metal models for a range. I had the Marauder Miniatures Dark Elf Army deal (50 quid back in the heyday of 3rd edition!!) and there were over 20 regular infantry models, 10 witch elf models, 10 crossbowmen, and multipart cavalry with I think 8 different bodies.

You don't have to like the figures from those days, but you can definitely love the variety. I won't comment on the price because inflation aside, I think it's obvious that GW's plastic policy is to price them the same as the metals over time. (Okay, I did comment, haha).

Oh the wonderful old times! When you bought Rhinos in boxes of 3! Big Grin
How I miss those days.

Maybe. But generally the gaming scene was much more pleasant. Its become too much of a big company the latter years. I feel like much of the games soul has gone. A good example would be White Dwarf.

bring back the old days i say!

GW seems to get that we liked the old marauder minis, look at this new plastic Bloodletter. It looks almost exactly like the old marauder minis.

God, I love that sculpt. By far the best GW sculpt since the ogres.

Thanks

Do you guys remember the old Mike Walker articles in WD? Those were hilarious. Ive never seen a gaming group beard more than them. And the eternal comments of Little Dave were just priceless.

Ill see if I can find them for reference. They were the best articles ever.

And kyte... how could you? look at the current BTs then at that new one... the new one is crap in comparison... (with the current deamons some of the nicest models there is tbh...).

I'm sure you mean BL, and not BT, because it's neither a bolt thrower, nor a blood thirster.

I still think it's an amazing model, and it looks a lot like the marauder Bloodletters. IMO, the current bloodletters looks like beastmen on steroids and not like daemons of the blood god.

Thanks

I love the current Bloodletters tbh.... They look so bestial and Barbaric. Its so lovely Big Grin

I don't dislike that Bloodletter, but it doesn't look particularly Khornate.

On topic, I can't say I'm too impressed by that Dwarf kit. I liked the Orc one, and got some good conversions out of it, but this seems very limited. It could be the nature of the Dwarf range, I suppose.

"look at him, in his wee little skirt. Lets keep him"

When are these new models to be released btw? Cant wait to see some new plaguebearers. They are easily my favorite Daemons.
