Yeah, at the moment they are fully 100% legal in everything bar the UK GT.

What were the reasons he said you're not allowed to use the CDs?

Id like to know that too.

To be fair, it can't be easy running a tournament with CD in it.
Imagine if questions start coming up about whether BC count as infantry or cav or one of those other curly issues.  The tournament organiser would need to download the army list and FAQs before hand to make sure he didn't get tripped up.

I sympathise with your predicament (it has happened to me too) but most of the problem stems from GW's lack of support for CD rather than tournament organisers.

Goodluck with arguing your case dude, I hope you get to play the evil little stunties (and win).

Skellan

You are in Canada?

I am going to place this one on the organisers.

CD are a legal army for the 2007-2008 Hall of Heroes season.

You want to download the Players Guide for the playable Army lists.

If they hadn't been willing to register with the league, they could at least download the tournament organisation rules and such so that they are in line with the official GW Canada practise.  I realise, "I play GW Game but I hate GW so I am not going to see how they are trying to help me..."  is an acceptable excuse in the community, but I find it frustrating in this case.  They even have a "help" line and email to answer questions.  Are they not going to support the new HE book either?

If they are doing a HoH tournament, and trying to ban CD, print off the players Guide and ask why they aren't following the tournament rules.  GW Canada actually made it fairly easy to run an "official" tournament.  More fun as well, as you get points for painting, sportsmanship and the like, so it isn't a colossal cheesefest.

They have a help line that you can call if you run into problems such as the BC, and it worked well enough when we tried it out.  BC are single model cavalry in Canada when I had them adjudicate it for me.  Maybe the line didn't work well, as I hate the single model cavalry response, Wink  but at least we had an "offical" response immediately.  The phone number and email are on the web page if you have any questions.  They have always been very responsive for me, as has the Direct Services line.  They did refuse to give official pronounciations for Tzeentch, however. Angry

If they would just do that then it would be a huge step forward. Unfortunatly the chances are pretty slim of that happening.

It was extremely lame that they didnt give the BA their own codex :/ As a long time BA player I was outraged.

After all these years i'd settle for any kind of army list, tbh.
I don't care if it's in a WD, Chronicles or a full on army book, I just want something....  anything....
me too... even if we're in HoC i'd be happy...

Like in the old Slaves to Darkness book?
I could live with that, although it would probably mean losing the ability to field greenskin slaves (mind you we'd be able to field beastmen instead Big Grin )

As I have a fairly decent sized (20,000pts inc unpainted models) chaos army already, I'd take the chance to swap greenskins for chaos units any day. I wouldn't want chaos dwarfs to lose their distinctiveness though

Tallhat

If they became part of HoC they would loose a lot of what makes them unique I think. But I cant see that there have been many implications of us actually belonging to HoC. I know we made the Hellcannons for Archaon but we sold those to him for a very very steep price. Not very likely we would have had the opportunety to sell them if we were his allies. In that case he would most likely just have taken them.

- Tallhat
I wouldn't mind us lumped in with the Chaos Hordes as long as the army is still fairly unique. And I wouldn't want a normal Chaos army to get hold of blunderbusses.

Tallhat

Problem is that we dont really have much in common with the HoC. Plus, traditionally those belonging to the HoC worship one of the 4 Chaos Gods or Chaos Undivided and we don nothing like it.

a 12" range weapon is not gonna break chaos... 8" thrown weapons never did...
besides i hear the flamer attacks are going up to 18" range anyway...

mortals in the chaos books seldom worship the big 4 directly...
they worship a type of daemon belonging to one or the other...
so too could it be with Chaos dwarfs... but CDs without marks seem fine...
its not a matter of worship... its a matter of who you fight alongside...
greenskins, chaos or ogres... none of them are chaos dwarfs anyway...
If Daemons get their own book then it might go back to be able to make you own daemons for your own god.  Last edition focused so much on the big four and ignored all other possible gods

Tallhat

Its been like that for a very long time. The Great 4 are the only Chaos Gods worth mentioning in GWs eyes. And TBH it would be a bit confusing if there were 20 minor gods to choose from as well.

Good luck in the competition may Hashut guide your dice and if you play a balanced list and they complain give them some sweetsHappy
Make sure you showcase the best of the chaos dwarfs. A balanced list which still shows off the hardness but also the character of the army will win more friends and converts than a 2 earthshaker beardfest any day. Especially important if you want to use them at tournaments again

Tallhat

My God... Complaining actually DOES help???? Happy Good luck mate.
