Earthshaker is a given, two and your opponent might want to slap you... So what does that leave?
We all know about the serious "nerfing" that the BCs went through. So what is the alternative? I'm thinking of DOW Ogres. I might paint up 4-6 and use chaos ogres figures. I've used that many to great effect in the past with my Khorne chaos army. Any others people might have for DOW choices?

BCs are great they scare the shit out of everyone as if they were chosen knights of chaos
and add a BC lord in there and they are that dangerous
(or they draw fire like they are he he)

big but / question, they die to easily. For a rare slot and the cost, I would hope the BC would be more hardy... I'd like to know how to effectively use them with those weakness. Give us guidance Hashut

Flanks ideally combined with the wolfboyz fast flanking unit they are fragile so hiding them can be very necessary
At what point do we think its fair to take 2 ES 4000Pts?given that we could use DOW cannon types.
Thats why i was thinking 2ES at 4000 was fair as we have BT ,DR and DOW canon types even hellcanon if you opponent would rather face that than 2 ES .My opponents reckon 4000 which i am happy with cause i love BC (the models are so cool) .
i do have two ES although one hasnt been stripped of old paint job (wont happen till other one is painted in there new livery)
If it was a power game I'd have no problem with two 'shakers, but in friendly matches i'd feel uneasy about one in 1,000pts; it'd either rock or be useless depending on luck or the size of the board, not great
I dont use or like hellcanon either ( The crew are excellent) its just an option opponents may rather face than 2ES

I must admit the hellcannonis fairly sucky, but I love the model, I agree with Wilmark, but he's still not getting out of the boar centaur, its wearing gromril armour covered in spelleater runes...

Are you using them as Ironguts or bulls? Coz if its Ironguts your gonna need at least two great weapons in there for WYSIWYG purposes

Back on topic, and just to add my voice to the chorus - I take IronGuts as my Rare choice. Models wise, I have bull centaurs on 40x40 bases, so I get the cool models, and rules I believe accurately reflect the models.

True CD generals kno when to limit the cheesyness. Unlike say Chaos players or Skaven players...
I think in general most chaos players I've met know where the limit is. In my experience there are three types of gamer no matter what the army: Friendly gamers, power gamers and their bastard skaven playing offspring
Use Ogres until they turn BC into a proper heavy cavalry
