Exciting news and mounting evidence.

I had a massive debate with a few friends a few years back about a fishmen army. I insisted that it wouldnt work. I guess i was wrong. It still might be an abomination though. Guess ill have to wait and see probably until about 2010.
Fishmen... I'll bet their main weapon is the pike.
Ya, sounded like a joke to me.

@Flying Beaver
Yep, scale mail and Pikes. An elite infantry unit would be called 'Sword Fish', and the cavalry could be flying fish?
They would fear anything with a net (gobbo netters)

Interesting to hear Gav talking about making Chaos Dwarfs, as opposed to the possibility that they might be done.
I must admit, I'm actually really glad that they didn't throw us in as an afterthought at the end of 6th ed. I know we would have an army now, but when you look how model quality is moving on in leaps and bounds (generally), when we get an army it will be the coolest EVER! If they had done them at the end of 6th we would have to wait until 2012 or something stupid to get an update.
Admitedly I might be the slightest bit biased being a CD player

, but I truly believe they will make the Chaos Dwarfs awesome.
I might be pessimistic but I am certainly not going to hold my breath for this. GW have promised things before just to let people down.

They excel at letting people down. The last issue of WD im buying is the December as i get let down every issue. Nothing interesting is happening. Only prices getting higher and higher for less and less. I think ill just go into hibernation until 2009, a but closer to their release.
yeah but the whole "everyone was chomping at the bit" to write the CD book implies that
everyone wanted to do it, and if that many people wanna do it that means that it's pretty likely to get done. Or I may be completely wrong

Don't get me wrong I'm as hopeful as the next for an update. However GW could very well likely just release a new PDF which I would rather have IMHO.
Me too tbh. At least for starters. And a PDF is at least feasable (spelling?).

Games Workshop, by their own admission, are in business to sell miniatures.
If they redo CDs it will be in order to make money from a miniatures line, not a PDF file released out of some supposed sense of loyalty to their market base.
I think GT's statement is actually pretty positive. He's talking about CDs being redone, which in practice should mean miniatures and a book (and therefore me having to sell a kidney to buy said miniatures).
And I for one would love a Fishmen army.

I would like a Deep One army, but that kind of Lovecraftian crossover seems unlikely
Although Cthulhu as a special character would be kind of neat.

I have no idea what you are talking about but it sounds much cooler than Fishmen. Its such a rubbish name for an army.
Anyway if there was going to be a fishman army who would they fight. Davy Jones???
I guess they could fight anyone who happens to travel across water or live near a coastline.
Presumably they would worship Mathlann/Manaan or Stromfels (or Cthulhu
)
I actually put down Cthulhu as my official religion on the last census we had here. All hail great Cthulhu.

Call of Cthulhu: the only RPG where library use is a must have skill and books cause fear in players.
Is Call of Cthulhu even available any longer?

Aye it is. I remember the good old days with D6 based Star Wars. Bloody best pen-and-paper I ever played.

I'm more of an OWoD man myself. Hunter: the Reckoning and Wraith: the Oblivion for the win!
wooo White Wolf!
I am guessing owod is Vampire correct? I always liked that settign though I think that they messed the game badly with Requiem. The Masquerade was so much better.
