Chaos Dwarf rumors-
Just got back from the larger of the independent stores in my local area (GW will most likely never be building a store here) and had a interesting conversation.
This is now three different times, but each of the senior staff has been talking to their GW rep and each comes back with the same story, every time: Chaos Dwarfs in late 2009 (Fall).
As it is seems the lineup is as follows: Vampire Counts, Chaos (Summer), possibly Skaven, 2009 is tentative for Dark Elves, Brets, the Chaos Dwarfs.
So the rumors that others have heard are now starting to pop up elsewhere; IIRC Xander heard pretty much the same thing. Xander correct me if I'm wrong.
However, as I said to the guys "I'll believe it when I see it". So this goes back to my original stance, hopeful, but doubting it highly.
So chalk this one up to the "take it with a grain of salt" or "you can't believe everything you see/read on the internet, hear, etc...".

Also I'd liek to point out Fall 2009 is a long way off, anything can happen.
Wait wait wait. A Cathay book? GW have said again and again they won't be doing that book.
Wait, wait. Now they tell us that the metal Axemen moulds weren't broken! *sigh*

I heard this rumor, of the 25th week mid way through, I can't remember the exact day now, busy and all. Any way, I made a call to the boz at the GW Baltimore 1-800 #. Whenever I do, I ask about the CD's and any news. That week I was told the Chaos Dwarfs will be updated / redone for sure. The year wasn't mentioned, but with all the bits found here, 2009 sounds reasonable. This was the most positive reply I have ever recieved therefore for myself at least, believe it will happen. But I will add a pinch of salt. It was good news for me at least and hope so for ya'll.

BC? Bull Centaurs? Any rumor is better then nothing at all. Let's just pray that Phil Kelly gets the nod...
I have become so disenchanted with GW (price goes up, what i get out of it goes down) i'm using other ranges and converting so no, probabaly not gonna buy em
can't wait for the rules though

gav was the one pushing for chaos dwarves............ but hey, they have confirme it so he had some scuess
all hail gav, prophet of dawi zharr
Not really a rumour about Chaos dwarfs per sé but my mates over at GW (I used to work there as well for a while) told me that the bigger bosses there have told the Forge World crew that they should do more WFB related stuff.
Seeing as they are releasing almost complete armies for 40.000 (Death Korps, Tallarn and Death guard) they might just be tempted to maybe do a few for Fantasy as well.
It could mean more bigger war machines and monsters, hopefully some CD related stuff! (think Daemonic engines and sorts)
So again, not really a CD rumour but interesting none the less!
Working in the business world and with some letter exchanges with Jervis one thing is clear. Now that GW is a publicly traded company and has "grown up" management I'd be willing to bet that the the "suits" in charge are getting everything on a schedule, enforcing deadlines and business plans rather the the chaos of the past. GW is no different then any other company and the haphazard nature of releases of products lines of the past is now a thing of the past indeed. No company can be unfocused these days.
They are getting there in fits and spurts, witness the state of the online store, the more disciplined approach to game development, etc... What this means for CDs who knows?
Having Forgeworld to them would be pretty cool.
As noted on the warlord games thread(the one with plastic romans and celts)it seems some ex GW are behind them with warhammer ancient battles being so popular in the UK.
GW and Ex GW members involved are John Stallard,Paul Sawyer,Rick Priestly and Jervis Johnson . GW may make the rules however it seems others will benefit from there popularity
If the rumours of Forgeworld doing more WFB stuff pan out i expect to see some really big albeit expensive warmachines (fingers crossed for at least fluff for CD making them)

Your guess is as good as ours. The supposed bits lacks that are to fill the void are veerrrrry slow in coming to the respective online GW sites.
I've removed my rumour, since it was exposed as a hoax. There is also someone who keep posting CD rumours on wikipedia, but they get removed in days.
Yesterday i was at the Italian Gamesday.

- Jes stated that Chaos Dwarves won't disappear, they will be developed when GW will have more time and resources. Oh, and no more big hats on models.
Don´t know if this have been posted on this site yet (in that case, sorry), but I have at least not seen it. Seems like some reliable rumours.
Edit: Oh, found some more...

Chaos Dwarfs: jes said "squat are gone,i've killed them all, personally.Chaos dwarfs? No,they 'll be not squatted..instead in the future you'll see them,in style with hellcannon's crew ones.No more big hats,we will develop them when we will have the time to,and resources"

If these are reliable sources then while it's not confirming any specifics like dates it does confirm that we are not dead (which is what we knew anyway with our inclusion in so many army books)
but, what we didn't know before, it does mean an end to big hats!

Okay, more news, not from GW this time, but from AoW!

And YES, Felix is already sculpting the chaos dwarf and soon will post some pictures of WIP.
I already hold my breath 'cause I love those "·$@##~ little ##@~@@@¬ :bounce:
They should open their eyes before Xmas
From Puin, the manager of AoW (link)
And also confirmed by Felix Paniagua itself:
When will be release the Chaos Dwarf Hero, or when will see a WIP picture ?
Thanks
Pretty soon

That looks doable, so lets keep plugging away guys!
I heard recently (last week) from Alessio C. that its a good chance that CD would be after Ogres. He did verify that it was in the dev teams thoughts.. and that preliminary ideas have been drawn up. He also told me that there would not be an army book reprinting the Dogs of War army.. He did say that we could probably expect that in a white dwarf. and that most likely Kislev would be with it.
a agree... but even that date seems well more like hoping than reality.. Being as the army would require a FULL line of miniatures I would expect it as the last army of the year.. So Christmas. Mainly due to the fact that they could run the model production over into the first quarter of 2011. This will help with costs.. and being that its near the end of the total release we should expect to see a slowing after their printing.. GW has stated on many occasions that their new Plastic Modeling is expensive and they can only make so many runs before it become unprofitable.
@Grimstonefire: Well, I´m pretty sure that Lizardman comes in February 2009 (and not March), so don´t really know if that list is that trustworthy...
The timeframe seems to fit as if we are going to get an army we are going to be the very last army in 7th IMHO. If it doesn't happen.... I don't want to contemplate the alternatives.
That being said I could see the later armies shifting quite a bit: Tomb Kings and Ogres are the most popular armies, at least not around me... Beasts... don't know> I haven't run across a Beasts player in years.
