I have it from a very reputable source that as we speak Gav Thorpe is working on the Chaos Dwarfs army book, and that we can expect an early 2009 release for Chaos Dwarfs.

Of course, such rumours have been floating around for quite some time, but I am inclined to believe my source based on prior experiences.

This is pretty exciting to me!��This means anything you post right now could possibly influence the book itself, if only indirectly!��Keep the support for Chaos Dwarfs as high as possible as we ramp up to this release!

Just got back from the Baltimore GT where a presentation and Q&A was done on upcoming releases. Here is all that was said and asked

2 Daemon Codex�s( 1 for each system 40K and Fantasy)

AN article will be written by Jervis Johnson in WD about how Fantasy Daemons will interact with Hordes of Chaos

Vampire Counts are well into play testing stage.
Unit called Corpse Coach
Focus on Sylvanians I believe
Some sort of rules for Bloodlines, but not in the sense everyone is thinking about

Dark Elves will have a special army rule similar to how High Elves have the go first rule. DE will not get the go first rule however

Chaos Dwarves are a very good possibility.

There may have been a few other things he mentioned for Fantasy, but I can't quite remember them right now

Chaos Dwarf rumors-

Just got back from the larger of the independent stores in my local area (GW will most likely never be building a store here) and had a interesting conversation.

This is now three different times, but each of the senior staff has been talking to their GW rep and each comes back with the same story, every time: Chaos Dwarfs in late 2009 (Fall).

As it is seems the lineup is as follows: Vampire Counts, Chaos (Summer), possibly Skaven, 2009 is tentative for Dark Elves, Brets, the Chaos Dwarfs.

So the rumors that others have heard are now starting to pop up elsewhere; IIRC Xander heard pretty much the same thing. Xander correct me if I'm wrong.

However, as I said to the guys "I'll believe it when I see it". So this goes back to my original stance, hopeful, but doubting it highly.

So chalk this one up to the "take it with a grain of salt" or "you can't believe everything you see/read on the internet, hear, etc...".��Also I'd liek to point out Fall 2009 is a long way off, anything can happen.

Last month at the��2nd 'Ard Boys Tournie in Texas, a GW Rep came to the store from England. I was talking to him about CDs when he told me there would be at least 7 new army books befor CDs would even be reconsidered and they may not even redo the army! I was shocked. He did mention a Cathay book and stuff about the new VC and Deamon books. But he made it distinctly clear that CD would be very, very far off if even done again! I wanted to scream! I hope dearly this is not true!

this is to do with mail order's.

well on friday i went into my local games workshop, because i only have 15 blunderbusses i decided to order another 15. the guy said on the phone that they are out of stock, SHOCKED!!!! i was due to the news i heard here that they were not replemishing the bull centaur legs, but then the guy at gw said that they are moving things around and now all gamesworkshop products on mail order will be made on demand,
he said all models will take 14 days roughly to get your order but they are able to go far back in catalogs, further than before.
then of course i came out with the question will they be more chaos dwarfs in mail order than blunderbusses and bull centaurs, the guy on the phone said, "unless the molds are broken then i dont see why not, i know by fact that the command groups and metal axemen are not broken we might see these pop up somewhere". then he hinted at the �50 vault packages.

vault packages are sets of old oop miniture that cant be bought but are sold for a rather expensive price, 20 forest goblins for �50?! well i guess making them on demand kills the oop bit.

I heard this rumor, of the 25th week mid way through, I can't remember the exact day now, busy and all.��Any way, I made a call to the boz at the GW Baltimore 1-800 #.��Whenever I do, I ask about the CD's and any news.��That week I was told the Chaos Dwarfs will be updated / redone for sure.��The year wasn't mentioned, but with all the bits found here, 2009 sounds reasonable.��This was the most positive reply I have ever recieved therefore for myself at least, believe it will happen.��But I will add a pinch of salt.��It was good news for me at least and hope so for ya'll.��

This response from Jervis and the letter that I sent predates my becoming a mod. I sent it to him via snail mail in early March. Jervis was nice enough to respond, and he and I have had a few email exchanges since then.

The Staff has been discussing this for about a month now and it seemed appropriate to discuss this now in light of the numerous threads going around about this topic.

This letter doesn’t change much and doesn’t do much other reiterate GW’s stance about Chaos Dwarfs at the current time. It is important to read as to what is not being said. Chaos Dwarfs in the HoC list is going to be unlikely other then the purported reappearance of the Hellcannon. It seems that CDs are on their radar but a few years away, which could be argued: they always are..

So take it all as it is: GW is most likely not going to be releasing anything Chaos Dwarf anytime soon and any inclusion other then the Hellcannon is going to be surprising indeed.

That’s not to say it can’t happen, it just will be surprising.

wallacer thats an great idea.So what do we need to post the rumours.Where it from , and who said it  .does it have to come from GW. could it come from sources like the walvault??

Actually, Citadel did produce one "fishman" in the late eighties, called a piscean warrior, for 40K (then Rogue Trader). It was obviously not taken to general production and is now a very collectable miniature:
