I just checked, I have issue 259.

Some cool ideas here so far.
No, those were converted from the "slutty" daemons as you call them.

The cloaks are optional, but they do wear a lot of clothes. People tend to do that, it seems. Tongue
The foundry models are cool, but most would require some sculpted clothes. Tongue

This website seem to be all females.  Check out the "Tribal" models for faerie-esk minis.
GW Stuff:

I am trying to find more painted pics of these models.

They seem good to me.

Ok, that's quite a post.
Fine, just so long as we enslaved a couple. Wink
oh HB Angry you're such a stickler (says Sojourn on Xander's account).

and I meant... the wings... of things we're gonna make... on our own...

although I LOVE LOVE LOVE those Rackham models! but Xander said they are too tall (the stilts one). and agreed, *I* can sculpt on clothes (or I will oversee the sculpting)
We checked out a local hobby shop yesterday and were able to find a number of nice miniatures.  Rackham, though normally very expensive here, was 50% off, so it was a decent price.  We still need more time to go through all of the blisters, but what we have now is pretty excellent.
I only neglected the mold release on the first side of the molding process.  When I poured the second half, I was sure to use it.  No harm done. Happy

I made about 5 casts of my mold tonight, I improved the mold after each one.  Not bad for a trial run, and my first 2-part mold.  The model was also very thin, so it made it a little challenging for my first attempt.  All in all, a great learning experience, and I can't wait to apply what I have learned to my Chaos Dwarf. Wink
Pictures have been blurred to protect the innocent! O_O

I have learned some things, for sure.  I want to do a better job on my next mold and make it even better.  But yes, the filling through holes method will work just fine. Happy

What is the mould and model made from?  Model looks like resin, but I see the plaster in the background???

Mold is silicone rubber. No plaster.

Grimstonefire Wrote:
If you used plaster I wouldn't be surprised if the wings are too thin.  Plaster is very brittle.

Resin can be brittle too. Again, no plaster. Wink

Grimstonefire Wrote:
The way you did the mould would allow complete models each cast, but a different design and you could have cast it in metal (maybe just the wings).  That would have made them a lot stronger, and you could have recast the wastage.

I don't have the supplies to cast in metal. Angry

Good job though, maybe in another thread we can see the first one painted?

We primed the model last night also. Happy

Grimstonefire Wrote:
If it was resin, any problems with bubbles?

Yes, though, the more I adapted the mold with air escapes, the less bubbles I saw.  I am going to think it through and come up with a way of reducing the air bubbles in the future.

I got it at Curry's.  They only had the one box when I went there, and it was half-opened!

There are other Curry's stores that have it though, or they should be able to order it for you.  It's very nice, it's a complete package, everything you need: 1:1 Silicone for the Mold, 1:1 Resin for the Casts, and Mold Release.  You even get a sealant for porous materials.

And at 40 bucks, it's a steal. Happy  Add another 3 bucks for the plasticine and you are good to go (provided you own some lego!)
lol, you guys are believing the illusions Sojourn spins for you.  I have not prevented her from painting anything. Tongue
lol @ Sojourn.

How many models have you assembed for your army? Normally you need to assembled your models before you paint them. Wink

Oooh la la!

Pretty!  I paste the link for reference later. Happy
I have always liked the Wood Elf army, I have a bunch of figures for it.

I am trying to come up with a scheme for the faerie army: The Nymphs of Athel Loren

It consists of 4 groups:

Wood Nymphs - Dryads (dry-a-dees)
Water Nymphs - Naiads (nay-a-dees)
Earth (Land) Nymphs - Hesperides (hes-pair-a-dees)
Air Nymphs - Faeries (fair-ees)

In this case, Wood replaces fire, elementally, as it is its antithesis in the forest.  The idea is based on the classifications of Greek Mythology: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nymph  The exception being the idea of Air Nymphs being Faeries, which are more found in celtic lore.

Hashut's Blessing Wrote:
Mr. Xander, I thought dryads was pronounced dry-adds, naiads were nigh-adds, hesperides were hess-per-ee-dees. Also, dictionary.com (your links) agree with my first assumption, have naiads as nay-adds and hesperides as hes-per-i-des.

You must not have listened to the Pluralizations. Tongue

Dry-add pluralized is dry-a-dees.
Nay-add pluralized is nay-a-dees.

Listen again, my friend. Happy
