OMG almost made 3rd! I would never have thought that, with all these great entries. Congratulations to all who won a medal, well deserved! I was also quite pleased to see the big hat faction very strong in this contest, with a lot of very cool models.

This was the most infuriating GH to count the votes, between the staff I think we must have done it at least 7 times

Congratulations everyone! Wooo i voted for the ones that got 1st, 2nd and 3rd! I guess 5th place isnt so bad considering its my first Golden Hat entry.

It's not uncommon that I lose out to Vexxus.  In a GW painting contest, I placed 2nd to his 1st with a Chaos Champion conversion.  So it's nothing new to me.

Plus, he is very experienced with Greenskins!

I've heard that. Can;t remember who said it. I agree anyway I never said I was displeased with my resulting model, I just expected it to occur. Curse the fine sculptors and painters!

Well done, everyone! I have little doubt that most of these entries would have been in first place if this had been Golden Hat #1, which goes to show the immense distance this site has come, and the great effort put into it by Xander and all the Mods.

And I came 10th, which is a nice, round number, so that's good too.

At this point we are disussing whether or not we want to have GH6 to help out Border Town Burning, and their Mordheim supplement.  They need pictures of Chaos Dwarf warbands by the end of June!  Should we help the Chaos Dwarfs beyond these walls?

For the purposes of this contest, we would allow the inclusion of models already painted for your army if they can be used in place of the models in the list.  Since each warband needs a Sorcerer and Chaos Dwarfs, you could use your already painted models to represent those.  The only model exclusive to the list is a Gaoler, which is a special Chaos Dwarf.  So the idea might be to have GH6 be about making a Gaoler, then including pics of your Warband when combined with other CDs you already have, and a sorcerer.

Who here doesn't yet have a painted sorcerer, or warriors?

They don't need to be very large.  But it would be nice to have some sweet pics for Border Town Burning to use!  We can increase our reputation abroad as a fine forum that cares about everything Chaos Dwarf related!

Well since this GH was for a standard bearer and it was the biggest turn out so far why dont you try a Champion next? I bet that will give an even bigger turnout.

We could do a Prison Wagon for Artisan's #2, and Gaoler for GH#6?

Gaoler would essentially be a themed Chaos Dwarf Champion anyway.

At the end of both competitions we could have a separate vote for Best Warband pictures, wherein you include a small warband composed of models you already have in conjunction with the Gaoler and Wagon?

The winner of the Warband vote would get a unique medal, and like 100 slaves or something?  We need to entice people, because right now, our current Artisan's contest isn't attracting much attention, and  I worry that people will forget about the Mordheim pictures...

I defintely agree that a whole Mordheim warband won't be easy. Also, I like the sentiment of the suggested idea (I can't remember whom by) of each person paints a model and the winner gets them all: unfortunately, models are too expensive for that really.

I defintely think we should have a gaoler as GHVI and prison wagon as AC2 (which I hope more people enter. Thus far, two entrants for AC1! More please. There is still a little time!) would work well. People can use the gaoler as a unit champion or hero or lord in their games or perhaps to start their own Mordheim or just for the fun of having a cool model. As for the remark about people disliking converting, we're Chaos dwarfs and it's our primary diet The website is built on sculpting

After both competitions, people can quickly make a list, add some experience etc if they want, put the models together, take the picture and we can flood BTB (so it's not Burning too much ) with them and they can pick the ones that they would like.

Maybe we should tally those that agree with this plan and those that don't?

Just realised: MANY people said they had ideas as to who's model is whom's. Nobody has said who they thought each belonged to after the winner was announced. Let's hear them!
