Whats happened to mounted daemonettes? And why are the flamers suddenly rare?
Mounted Daemonettes have just been renamed.  They are the Slaanesh special choice.
Everything in the new daemon release comes out on the 10th of May.
I can't wait to get hold of the new juggernaut.  I'm looking forwards to getting it more than I have any other model for quite a while.
No problem, Kera. ashur, that is mostly due to game balance issues, I would guess. I'm still debating whether or not to actually buy any. I'm yet to buy the new spawn box set (which is fairly old now) Big Grin Chances are that I'll still buy the book though. I was starting to convert a Tzeentchian daemonic legion army, but I didn;t bring it to uni so I could get cracking on my chaos dwarfs!
It would defeat the object really. I like the fact all the special and rare choices are different. I certainly hope there will be herald models and a new daemon prince. Has anyone got a link to any of the rules posts on other sites
Latest rumour is that they will relaunch the repacked mounted 'nettes soon.  They will then replace them around this time next year (probably to tie in with a warhammer campaign?).  It's still only rumoured at this stage.

Also rumoured are plastic horrors, plaguebearers and some new greater daemons.

Every time GW repackages something they increase the price. Mad
I had a chance to Skim through the Daemon book yesterday.  My local GW had an open copy!

Taking a look at their time line I found two references of interest.  The first was a story of a clash between a very powerful Ogre and a Bloodthirster that took place in the dark lands.  In the end, though mortally wounded, the Ogre was able to entomb the Bloodthirster in a pillar of rock.  That rock was hence forth known as the Daemon's Stump!  So there you have it.  Official Daemon Stump fluff.

The second mention of note was that of a Vampire near the Mountains of Mourn.  He uncovered a magic crown that allowed him to communicate directly with Tzeentch.  A pact between the two was struck and the Vampire led mixed armies of Daemons and Undead against both Ogre and Chaos Dwarf armies.

So, with my quick skim, I found two Chaos Dwarf references!  Hopefully there are more.  There was nothing about Juggernauts however.

I am going to make a separate thread about this. Happy
I don't know that we were a pair, but the vampire/daemon army would encounter Chaos Dwarfs, and would also encounter Ogres.  Not necessarily at the same time.
Shame it was an ogre and not a chaos dwarf that did for the 'Thirster
We could just feed them hobbos. What are the greater daemon rules like Xander
I didn't check out the rules too closely, I was more looking for Chaos Dwarf fluff. ^^;

I will be stopping by the store for the auction, maybe I will take a closer look. Happy
No more autopop? YES! I may actually consider using them now... Before, they were more expensive than Chaos Warriors, cost a special in a mortal army and if they lost a round of combat, you could lose an entire unit. A waste of points, in my opinion as they weren;t strong enough to garuntee a win in their first combat of the game...
i had a few units for colour, but I'll consider them as an army now
You can use just the units for a single god, but it won't do as well.  You'd be better off doing a couple of counts-as units to be able to use units from other gods so your army is much more well rounded.
Once I finish my current CD list I'll be doing a Nurgle army;

Herald on Palanquin
Maybe a 'Khorne' Herald on chariot

1 unit Plague Bearers  (metal plague bearers)
1 unit Horrors of Nurgle  (metal horrors)
1 unit Pusletters (from plastic bloodletters)

2 units Flesh Hounds of Nurgle (from dire wolves)
1 or 2 units of nurglings  (metal nurglings)
Possibly a unit of mounted nurgle daemonettes (based on plague riders: either worm like or mounted on flies) or a unit of furies (based on giant flies).

Plague beast
Bloodcrusher

So I'll be using quite a few 'counts as' things in my list.  I think I could do this entire list for under £160 as well!
I haven't seen the book yet! I thought the plague beast and blood crusher were single models Wink

You can't have a nurgle list without nurglings IMO.

I've got some beads today, so I'm going to have a go at making a steed of slaanesh.  I'll put up a new thread once I've done some work.
The test seeker I did came out really well.  It looks disgusting! Sick  I even made up a sculpting technique that is really quick, easy, and highly textured.  You'll have to wait to see it though, I'll finish the arm bits and take some photos Wink

All I need now is someone to ride it.
Fingers crossed that the HoC book will have a magic item that lets me field a unit of lesser Daemons, otherwise my Bloodletter unit is pretty much useless (although it does look nice in my cabinet).

Wooo. Tongue
