Perhaps an email to let people know its ready site wide by the admins... however, it will not be emailed. Hosted in a section that people can download will be the way to go...
I'm playing a 6,000 point legendary battles game this Sunday recreating the Black Orc uprising. I can do a battle report for that is you like.
Sure send it in. For battle reports its a good idea to provide rough sketches of the round by round action. It helps to visualize the game for those how were not there to witness the game.
Sounds great. This project will always be in need of quality material. It would be nice to be able to start stock piling material for issues #2 and #3 and beyond.
UPDATE:
The first issue (now labeled as Summer 2008) is now nearing completion in terms of its layout. But some things are still needed:
- Needed are high quality photos of people's models (painted only). By high quality I mean the jpegs off the camera, not low rez loaded to the site. Ideally I'd like to feature 4 in the first issue in a special section whose name I'm keeping under wraps.

PM me for details on how to get them to me...
- There is still 1/2 to about 1/3 of a page left open. If you have something small to send in, nows the time to do so.
Looks like we will easily make the end of June time frame for the first issue! Thanks to all how have contributed.
Also start sending in those submissions for the next issue. Its never too early...
Lastly more high quality artwork is always needed. I have a few people working o some stuff but having more is always a good thing.
By high quality I mean the jpegs off the camera, not low rez loaded to the site.
How do the pics in my thread measure up to this standard? I wouldn't mind them being featured.
The pictures themselves are good in terms of content, however 72 dpi won't do it. 150 dpi is better 300 dpi is better yet. Basically as I mentioned that which comes off yoru camera is the ideal situation.
The reason I'm doing this is in case someone wants to print this. 72 dpi photos would look horrid printed...
awesome! I'm glad it's nearing completion! the sooner I get it for editing, the better. it will provide more time for changes and alterations if need be
just let me know whenever it's all ready Willmark.
I will indeed. I will be providing it in outline form for the first revision/editing then in PDF after it is in place in InDesign.
dpi is meaningless in a digital format. Image size in pixels is the important thing.
True. What I'm talking abut if you are going to print; if you are printing out anything dpi sure is important.
600 is the theoretical starting point for high end printers with laser color printers getting much higher then that 1200 DPI and up.
Best way to describe this both matter.
DPI refers to the image when it actually produced as in sending it to a printer its resolution. Even then DPI matters only in relationship to what your printer is capable of. Anything more then 1000 DPI I'd indistinguishable to the human eye (for the most part). If your printer can only do up to 300 and your image is 800, obviously it only prints @ 300.
Let me print a few photos of yours and I'll see how they come out. I'll keep you posted.
Mag is rounding to form nicely. We should easily be able to make the deadline of June.
Still needed: 2 letters to the editor. Send in a quick question and it will get answered!
we have a medal for great contribution to the wiki
What the hell do we have to do to get that thing anyway?
Good question. Looking at it so far it has been awarded once... to Cornixt
So noted I'll bring it up in the staff forum.
Lets resume "on topic"...
Webzine #1 is now nearing completition. Just a few more bits and it will be released for editing. As such we will easily make June 28th.
So looking forward: artwork is always needed. Stories, articles, you name it. I'm already starting an outline for issue #2 so think about a submission for issue #2 this Fall.
Also it looks like our cover artist is lined up for issue #2 as well.
Most definitely. Art is going to be one thing we will always have a need for.
Update: we are inching closer to the deadline for submissions. For a reminder the deadline for submission is Saturday, May 31st.
Last bits are the cover and one article needs an additional page finished up. There might be a chance for 1 page available for an article. Those interested please send a submission in by the deadline.
The deadline will be firm as I have to get it to Sojourn for proofreading and editing.
Even thou not till the fall will take submissions for the Fall edition at any time.
Nope portrait. I have however made sure everything is converted to CMYK in case someone wants to print them out. If you happen to have a printer with duplex printing capabilities (or borrow one) it should back up correctly for double sided printing as well.
UPDATE
We are nearing the "end zone" for submissions. Saturday will be the cut off. Since the next issue won't be till fall I encourage everyone to start thinking of submissions for the next issue, plenty of time.
As of right now we are finalizing some bits here and there and shifting a few things around. Soon its off to revisions, proofing and editing. June 28th looks very dooable at this stage of the game.

to everyone involved... the first issue will be here soon.

Content for the Summer 2008 issue are no longer being accepted as all parts are now in for the No. 1 Issue - Summer 2008. Thank you to all who submitted articles. Very shortly it will be off to editing!
Again don't forget to start submissions, working on articles for No 2 Issue - Fall 2008.
I have just received the cover for the webzine and lets just say its
STAGGERING. Unbelievable, words are useless on this, I cannot wait for everyone to see it.
All parts are now in and by Monday editing should begin.
(Sorry HB, but this warrants a double post...!

Good to hear we will make and announcement in a few weeks regarding that.
Good news everyone Sojourn has reported that editing is done! All that is left is to finish the edits, make the final PDF and we are done with issue #1!
Looks like Saturday will be doable for posting, might slip till Sunday night but stay tuned, almost there.
Sure. We are placing the final edits on issue one now. This weekend our first issue will be out Huzzah!
Once it is out we will start accepting submissions for issue #2 due out in September.
