In most people's eyes 4th Ed was broken. I'm not up on the specifics but I think it was the fact that alterations to ranged shooting and the like invalidated swarm/horde armies, so armies like Tyranids were becoming shooty rather than choppy.
Nah, people just b*tch about everything. There were plenty of naysayers when it first came out, but people don't keep posting if they like something - they just get on and use it - so the fans have slowly become outweighed by the complainers as time has come on. It's been about four years since the last edition came out, after all.
IMO the movement dosent work in the curent edition. because almost everyone moves at the same speed if someone runs away you cant catch up

The changes look good. I sat in a presentation at Games Day and it was focused on 5th edition 40k. For those that play Dark Eldar, both Jervis and Phil confirmed that they will be getting a new book at some point and compared it to the wood Elf situation several years back.

maybe the emporer will die. *gasp* and then the humans will start killing each other. this gives an excuse for all the space marine vs space marine battles and even lets imperial guard have a good scrap. then maybe a sort of intergalactic UN will rise up and that will be the grander empire.
a scary plot twist is that GW will make a new dark eldar codex...ew scary
As noted in my Gamesday Thread Gav and Jervis confirmed the Dark Eldar will happen its just gonna take some time.
The reprint of the old pic of the Emperor on the throne (now is colour!) is different - he no longer has a face! The non bionic half is just a skull rather than flesh like it used to be.
