It depends when you go. In the quiet times (school days usually) they can chat with you for ages. I used to talk to them while waiting for the bus, since my bus stop was right outside.
you lucky git your bus stop's outside it where ever i go they alway talk to me even if i miss the bus they'll continue talking (maybe it's me)
i'm not complaining about it, it's quite nice talking to then because they give you tip's and are really nice guy's (gal's) and because most are young they talk better and they have real connection's with the buyer's
At my local GW, theyre also really nice guys!
Usually there are a few 'locals' which spend all there time in there, and they know practically everyone there by name. They can even remember mine, and i only go there roughly once a month! I'm known by the 'locals' as the 'sculpting kid', and they all seem to be really intrested in my stuff, especially my CDs and my LM!

@godbob well it's better than our local retailer who comminicates in grunts and you feel reluctant to give him your money
