For Manliness sake, I will select Whisky.  Though I tend to only drink things that taste good.  I don't drink a lot of alcohol at all.

Whisky Sour is what I would drink, I suppose, though I do prefer Amaretto Sour.  I also enjoy Bailey's.  I have been known to choke down Vodka (usually with Cranberry Juice) or Rum (with Cola), but I generally do not enjoy it.

I was once able to drink a beer after a long day of working on my basement.  but that's the only time I have consumed more than a few sips of the stuff.

First one here to vote beer; I'm a bit disappointed.

I like all kinds of beer, and experiment with every new one I come across.  Polish beer is the worst.  Over 10% alcohol is not meant for beers!  Krieks and Framboise are new interesting ones I've come across; beer that tastes like Cherry pop is very strange but good.

Wine is excellent with dinner, as beer drowns the taste of a lot of food.  Other than that, I'm not much into hard alcohol; I drink it like I drink beer, which tends to make me extremely drunk with a horrible hang over.

I can't believe Xander says whiskey tastes good opposed to beer.  Whiskey is so harsh...
Vailima (Samoan Beer)

PS Whiskey is the irish version, Whisky is what the beastly Americans call Scotch (ask a Scots person about this and you will see what I mean) and Bourbon is an abomination in the eyes of the Lord and only suitable for mixing with cola Cheers!
Since I brew my own, I'd have to say beer.  Proper beer, not that weak American brown water "drink chilled so it freezes your taste buds and you can't tell how crap it is".

Other than that, vodka is great.  Most other high alcohol drinks have a strange taste to them that I don't like, whereas vodka is almost tasteless (unless you get the cheap stuff that smells like meths) with a slight hint of something nice.
I found I like to drink pints of a 1:1:1 ratio of brandy, malibu and vodka. Incredibly nice...

I also quite like skittle vodka, but it takes too long to brew up.

Normally, it's good old cider for me Big Grin I've been known to down half-bottles of everybody elses drinks at the same time (2 seconds for half a bottle Wink ) and it helps to keep me sober by mixing, which is odd Big Grin

I don't drink often and I don;t drink much, but I can swill it down better than most.

Just remembered, I like black vodka too. Still, cider for me, all the way. Sometimes, I mix it up by having a pint of lemonade though...
By lemonade, I meant the English version. However, cloudy lemonade is awesome as well. Usually, as in when it's not alcohol nights or whatever/your average day, it's water all the way for me!
I had to vote Beer. Kronenberg and Cobra ftw.

Good ol' Boddingtons from the can.  Nice cream ale, when the pouring actually works.  Sometimes it comes out flat (not sure why).

Good to see I'm not the only beer drinker.  Decent scotch here is ridiculously expensive.  100 dollars a bottle easy.
I'm rather fond of cider (although I usualy end up drinking beer in pubs as it's cheaper and 1/2 as strong (I'm pretty lightweight))
Wine is also usually quite nice

My favorite such beverage is Pimm's though, best served with ice, fruit, and Lemonade; only good in the summer though so it's a bit of a rarity.
Fairly easy...beer. Specificaly the heavier brews form good ol' Hertog Jans' brewery. Beer just makes my evening, and I tend to not be bothered by it in the least the day after.Cheers!
Lager is a type of beer. Ale is a type of beer. Stout is a type of beer. Bitter is a type of beer Big Grin However, superfella, I do agree that bitters and stouts (don't know about ales) are nicer than lagers. As to mead, it tastes damned fine! Sousonou, it was brandy, malibu and vodka I had the other night at Lew's right? I could drink that like I eat my food. In large quantities and in the blink of an eye.
I know a friend who swears by Pimms.

I find that Citrus fruits, especially lemons, can cut through the alcohol taste enough for me to drink them, that's how I handle Whiskey, Grish.  Since I don't often drink, my friends try to buy me drinks.  As rule, I won't say no to a free drink, I will generally try most things at least once.

Also, please drink responsibly, and never drink and model. Happy

Grish

Well lime is served with mexican beers like Sol or Corona; a lemon would do the same thing (bit sweeter though).  The acid goes well with it; lots of 'girly' drinks have citrus fruits for the same reason.  It tastes fine.

And indeed, you must drink while modeling zombie pirates.  There's no way you can get that drunken, scurvy look while sober.
I voted "other" since (shockingly) Black Russian was not a choice on the poll (it's a mix of Vodka, Kahlua and coke for those of you who grew up in a monastery and have never heard of it).
Bourbon would be my second choice.
Third choice would probably be beer, although only for financial reasons.  If I can afford it it's spirits all the way.

Don't forget that Xander is Canadian. They don't quite 'get' beer over there

My prospective in-law and I argue about this one. He's scottish and a whisky collector (of very high standards). I on the other hand am proud of my Irish routes and stand by my grandfather's saying that "whiskey is distilled in Ireland and spelt with an 'e,' as God intended." (He always did have an interesting view on religion)

To sumerise:
In England: Drink Ale
In Ireland: Drink Guiness
In Scotland: Drink Whisky
In Wales: Just Drink
In Frace: Drink Wine
In Germany: Drink to excess
In Scandanavia: Drink Larger
In Russia: Drink Vodka
In America: Drink watered down knats' urine (you guys call it Beer for some reason)
In Canada: Pray for release

Anybody out there tried Hobgblin Beer - probably someone from England will have to answer this Takes Hat off

Whisky was first made in China (in both forms of the spelling, just Scotland and Ireland created it later and came up with separate spellings).

but we have are home brews that would make you guys cry even served warm or even hot!!!
Who would by can beer or anyway ????
Keep on rocking in the free world!!!!!!

I'd cry if my brew was HOT. Sick and wrong... I prefer draught to can, to be honest. One of the best ways to drink Strongbow (I'm a lazy student, hence this) is from the two litre bottle, straight after buying it... (With friends, playing Call of Duty Big Grin )

I was tempted to buy a Hobgoblin beer the other day, but it was inappropraite for some reason I can't recall. Kera, ethanol is the safest alcohol to drink. It's what's in ya beer and rum etc etc. The only other alcohol you can drink without facing VERY serious consequences TOO quickly (usually death) is methanol and, as we should all know, methanoic spirits can make you go blind quickly as well as speed up the likelihood of liver failure Tongue Not good...
One thing I'd like to point out: it is lager, not larger. Larger means bigger...
Best beers I've found in the US have been Sam Adams, Red Hook, Fire Station 5.  Avoid anything that is "light" or "lite" or that advertises itself as being best drunk ice cold (ie Bud, Miller, Coors).  Deschutes is the worst "microbrewery", strong tasting but not nice tasting.
