Hello all,

Just finished basing most of the models plus started painting several in bulk. Will avoid plastics for as long as possible but the army is not meant to be a strictly classic army for gaming purposes at any rate, so there'll be lots of Spearmen and Halberdiers in a short while. My plan is to paint up classic metal models for the front ranks of every regiment and fill the other ranks with plastics. Cheap trick which actually works!

Captain:

Champion:

Minstrel from Talisman who'll serve as musician for a regiment of fops:

Misc. champions/musicians/standard bearers:

Outriders:

Marauder Miniatures' Empire ogres (5 of 7, 2 are not based yet):

Halberdier champion:

Fops:

Militia:

Halfling archers:

More halflings:

cannon entrenchment with space for 3x crew:

Averlanders from Mordheim who'll serve as halberdier champs or even heroes:

Am planning on a scratchbuilt war altar and a war wagon even if the rules no longer include these exotic creations. Stay tuned...

great paint jobs love your army!!!
The paint jobs are really nice. I've seen pics before of the Maraduer Empire Ogres before and I must say your's look the best out of all the one's i've seen. Keep up the great work man.
Sexy. I love seeing old models get modern paintjobs - it's often surprising how far the art of miniature painting has come along - and it's amazing how easy it is to breath new life into old sculpts.
Hi,

Thanks for the comments, even though few models are actualy finished I am proud to be able to put my extensive collection to good use. The Marauder ogres remain a priority in terms of painting, and even though I hardly have begun to slap any paint on them they are still very impressive. Will try to update shortly and with bigger pictures.

Cheers,

Martin
