Well, from what I can see he's going to be better than loads of the versions I've seen.
Most are too big/fat, yours remains more akin to the artwork. Well done so far Grim, will certainly follow this project with interest!
Ambitious for sure but I believe that with your skills you can pull it off!
Even the flies huh?! Any ideas how? And with that I mean the flying effect.
WOW! - GFS - that's a <bip> <bip> <bip> <bip> <bip> excellent model

. Please keep us posted on the progresses.
Wow, looks very detailed already, can't wait to see it finished
Amazing stuff so far Grim'

I can't imagine how good this will be with the weapon and cloak all sculpted, can't wait!
On the way to being the best Chaos Lord I've seen!

Very nie indeed. The level of detail is just phenominal, how do you achieve it? I feel terible pointing out anything about a model I couldn't emulate in my wildest dreams, but to me the pose of the axe seems a little off. the right arm needs to angle in a little more.
Amazing grim, but why the round base? Is it purely for Showcase? A figure this well realised needs a disease ridden horde to command
This is definetly the best version of the character I've seen already

I'm in awe... this is truly impressive!
The flies turned out very good!
To me the fur looks a bit off, and I just can't shake the feeling that the pose is a bit awkward from the sideview. Like he toppling forwards a bit too much. Maybe if he had a slightly hollower back it would help. And the arms, wouldn't it look better if they are closer to his body?
So, no critique on the detail which is spot on and very good just the postioning here and there. Hope you get what I mean mate.
All in all, very cool! Wouldn't mind giving a shot on painting it. Any resin copies in the making?
Flies look awesome

for pulling those things off!!
Amazing sculpt Grim', nothing else I can say really, amazing sculpt!

Based on the sculpt itself and you usual painting talent it should have had a statue
Can't wait to see the pictures of him painted and the guys/girls he was up against - please post very soon.
Woohoo! I've been waiting for this, awesome stuff
There is alot of detail but that doesn't take anything away from the model for me, though I can see why it may do for others. I think if you take a look at the concept art it's a busy picture, the fact your miniature is so detailed is a tribute to how well you've done the artwork justice, well done Grim'

Hm, could it be that the judges reduced points for your model due to the "wrong" base? The model being a fantasy one and all... I thought there is this regulation in place nowadays that says that Golden Demon entries have to be "correctly" based but I might be mistaken.
Anyways even if you did not win anything, this model has certainly advanced all your skills and you have created something truly impressive. As Xander said, this is it's own reward.
Finally - and it has been worth waiting for
I think he is perfect - can't picture out one single thing you should have done differently. Brilliant job
I love him - sadly the judges didn't

The added shield looks great. Nice job painting him. Some things can be better Imho though. I feel the metallics could use some more work for example. But you got yourself a really cool model there!

:
I only have one thing to say: why are you not working for GW???

ecuas ehe's too good for them, if he grim was to wrok for GW, they would all have to grovel and submit to his awesome CDness
Did you see The Stuff of Legends webpage Grim'?
Again, great job!! deserves the coverage I think
