Full Version: Fimir?

The Fimir could be used to build a very unique Ogre Kingdoms army.
They could even be used as Chaos Ogres or Trolls.

Guildenstern

yes, I have some HeroQuest Fimirs, too.

These Zeots look a little bit like Fimir-centaures...

There are two Fimir miniatures at the "correct scale" i.e. a size between 1.8m and 2.1m (in-game scale): Fimir (actually Fimm Warriors) from HeroQuest and some limited edition Fimm Warrior miniatures sold separately.

I am actually using some of my Heroquest Fimir models as slaves in my Orc unit.

Fimir are awesome.

I think from memory the Fimir were half Daemon and half human.
Their females (which are rare) do not produce offspring, instead Fimir kidnap human females.

I can just imagine the political correctness sirens going off in GW marketing if anyone tried to make that canon again.
It still seems weird to me that GW never had those rights signed over.
I bet one of their legal guys got caned for that oversight.

Tallhat

Zoats.... Even the name stinks. And they were silly too. As silly as a Jochero. Happy

I think they should reintroduce the Firmir (under a different name), as a race of underground nasties.  The warhammer equivalent of Tyranids.  They could burrow their way around the world in the same way as skaven.
Fimir will never make a comeback.  GW wrote them out of the fluff a long time ago.

Willmark Wrote:
The reason I shy away from saying never is who would have guessed Ogre Kingdoms?

Bringing in a new army is a bit different than eliminating an existing one.

Most of those Fimir are pretty average figures.
And they could very easily do "counts as" for an Ogre List I guess, so they would still be useable.

There is more than hope for Fimir, because they still exist. They were actually mentioned not long ago in the "Gnoblar Horde" Armylist in UKWD 310.

It said about Boglars, that they lived in swamps and often allied with strange cyclopean daemonic beings.

Wow, really?  That is interesting.
Nice that there are still some people at GW old school enough to remember Fimir.

man fimirs, havnt heard from them in a while, i would love to make an army of them but its like 10 times more ambicious than even chaos dwarfs,
Just to complete the links for Fimir figures available

The Plastic Heroquest Fimir

Limited edition lead Fimir

This guy is the same scale as the plastic fimir i.e on a 25mm base. The scale of the other Fimir i.e. on 40mm bases, was apparently a mistake between modelling amd casting. This may be what killed them off as the larger models were expensive.

I think Fimir still have a chance of a re-appearance. GW hasn't had any original ideas in WFB for years so they will recycle anything. Even Zoats were mentioned in the new Tyranid book.
You're showing your age there, buddy Wink
(I know because I recognise those figures too)

Good to see that even at our age people can still be "down with the youth culture"  Rolleyes

And yes, Zoats are much better figures than Fimir.

Fimir looked like the first version for fishmen. Anyone know where the idea come from?

I think someone just got the idea of having a race that was a cross between Daemons and humans, and Fimir were the result.

There's things like the Giant's Causeway as well which is in England; as well as the Norse landings which were mostly in Scotland and Northern England

Hate to say it dude but the Giants Causeway is at the top end of Ireland - I've been there (and well worth the trip too).

Legend has it was a bridge to Scotland built by a giant so he could go and fight another giant.

You have to love those crazy giants Cheers!

Fair do's, my mistake

The Norse landing comment still holds though I think
