I can't wait to get my Rykarth done.

I think this will be a very interesting competition as everybody will see Rykarth differentely.
Good luck to everyone who entends on entering!
Nice plan to get us sending the images to GW US.  They seem to be much more receptive to showing hobby stuff done by the public.  So that would be a real reason for everyone to give this their best effort ever!

Whilst we're sending stuff. I might as well tag on a pic of my avatar model (not intended to be the Rykarth I send to GW unless it turns out better than my actual entry).
Oh boy! It's going to be a close-run thing for me time-wise (I have to go to China next week), but I've just realized what my entry is going to be...

Since I became a GW staffer, I have the White Dwarf model already.  It's got nice scale mail armour and best of all the head is not attached to his body.  So it's an easy job.  I will probably make one from that. Happy

DAMMIT!!! That's exactly what I was going to do. Only I was keeping my mouth shut about it... I've been excited about it for several days now, along with chopping up Gotrek to make a Bull Centaur Hero.

It's good to know that his head is separate. I was afraid of dremelling all that stuff away.

Now all I gotta do is think of something to do with Bugman. And wait for my stuff to arrive of course.

Steve
I'm really looking forward to seeing this Kyte!

I already have the perfect model. A Hellcannon crewman standing onto of the Demon head that came with a Games Day model a few years back!

Nice! Another bold use of a limited edition fig, hehe!

I'll enter, just so long as I can get a working camera and figure out how to post pics

Posting pics is very easy. Alls you need is a photobucket or a flickr account and then you can upload your pics to the internet, then you put a link to your pics in your pm to Xander for your entry.
The camera is another story.

If any of the Chaos Dwarf magic items have a bound daemon, it's the Gauntlets of Bazrakh the Cruel. A strength bonus but a risk of hitting friendly troops? Sounds fishy to me.
No HB, sorry. 4 photographs is the maximum.

Just requesting some info.
Is there any fluff about the Armour of Gazrakh?
I assume that most of the magic items that came with Ravening Hordes were actually based off of 5th edition items, so is there any kind've additional information about the Armour of Gazrakh (That being the only magical item he wears).

From my list:
A demonstration of the genius of the greatest of Chaos Dwarf armoursmiths, this enchanted suit of plate emulates the armour of the Darklands Stonebeetle, a highly complex, interlinking exoskeleton that forms a spiked, nigh impenetrable shell around the wearer.

Grrrr!
There's a good chance I'm not even going to get my figure in time to convert and paint it...

I'm paranoid so I ordered my figure from three different places. Sure enough, one of them's been cancelled already. One of them should be on its way (gimme gimme gimme!) and the other's on the same order as a bunch of advanced orders (which I was hoping might be sent a little early seeing as how they're supposed to sent to reach customers on release day.)

Steve
PS. How come we've not seen Kyte's figure yet?
Does this mean that the Nemesis Crown Banner competition has been canceled?
My entry's finished. It'll get submitted (well, not really as I take the submissions...) once I can get a camera from my friend.
I got my fig, and started hacking it up a couple of days ago.

But I've just realized there's a good chance my conversion won't get posted if I continue with my "holding aloft the severed head of an enemy" conversion due to a most unfortunate similarity with certain militant actions in Iraq.

Any thoughts?

Steve
I'd never have noticed the similarities, to be honest. Besides, there's nothing wrong with basing models after real-life occurrences. Do what you think looks cool.
Right, I'll press on with that then. It was that or give the figure a shield (which seems a bit useless given his ARMOUR OF GAZRAKH!!!)

A quick note, if we hope to have an entry posted on the GW US site, be sure to take the picture with a white back-drop to match the standard on the site. Cheers.

Does this mean that the actual model has to be very GW friendly, as in at least 50% GW model, or somehting?

the majority of the model (both price and volume) must be GW for them to feature it...
It occurs to me that since Xander is sending all these figs to GWUS we probably need to relinquish our copyright of the photographs if we are to have a hope in hell of GW putting pics on their website.
