well, there dwarves of fire so try this

1. get a steak/chicken
2 marinade in wine
cook for about 2 hours
add seasonings
pore on more wine and add a match
serve with other stuff
flame grilled beef! dunno if that would offend Hashut, just dont drink anything with taurine in it.
Maybe some root vegetables, but otherwise, charred meat, dark wine, and strong cheeses sounds good to me.
...and slaves that happen to "escape". Evil idea

I wouldn't know, but I hear Goblin and Hobgoblin meat, while a little stringy, can be quite tasty.
I guess they eat lot of meat but I also belive thay eat "hard" vegetables like carrots, onions and other that can grow in harsher countries.
I think chances are like the dwarfs they can cultivate food underground, or terraforming parts of the land into farms Because of their slaving style they are more likely to eat domesticated meat, and would be the ones to invent battery farming.

instead of a flat bread maybe a flour/corn wrap. warmed up and filled with bbq style pork strips and cheese, onions, mushrooms, could be nice. I can also see them using a lot of fiery spices Happy

Of course you have to remember if you want people to eat it you might have to bend the rules a bit concerning chaos dwarf diet.
I would imagine they make off with more than just slaves on their raids; they could very easily raid food supplies of other racs to complement their (probably) bland diet. That means you probably see alot of variety at Chaos Dwarf tables, depending on when and from were the latest slaving expedition got back from.
Keep in mind the darklands are not made of volcanic soil, but consist of highly toxic and polluted water and soil as a result of the the heavy industry and deforestation of the CD and the high ammounts of warpstone. This also isn't you regular situation were a volcano erupts, then you start growing things. This is a constant emission of pollution and poison.
maybes like a big hairy black highland cow

i dont think they would be cannibals, i.e. eat other chaos dwarfs, simply because they are a small race. Its quite feasable that they will eat other humanoids, like humans, greenskins, regular dwarfs, and those oh so tasty elves . . .
Touche AGPO!

Maybe they would eat msuhrooms as well, as these would grow. Im also against the whole fertile land around volcano argument. they dont live by a volcano, they live in a volcanic wasteland where nothing would realy grow (well, thats how i see it).

ANd I doubt they would be into cannablism, due to dwindling numbers. Eating slaves, yes. Each other? No.
'revenge is a dish best served all you can eat' Revered Lord Grundhak The Mad in his famous speech before the battle of the flayed rock in which four thousand oath-breaking elves were taken prisoner and roasted inside a giant statue of Hashut and served as a reward for the victories hordes.
theres not much meat on a chicken but we still eat them
since a goblin is a different creature id say no.

if we eat a monkey we arent cannibals. Also even f it was i dont think an orc would be bothered by the human term
As for the gnoblars, the orgres dont have a problem eating them.
Then again, the orges dont have a problem eating anything!
They may well have a hardy creature like our yaks that can live in bleak and inhospitable  plains on the little scrub grass there is.The fantasy version of the yak would probably be very formidable and survive well with all the predators and nomad hobbos etc.Happy
This thread about what our beloved chaos dwarfs eat has actually inspired me to actually start to base some of my fluff around it. My idea is that my clan of chaos dwarfs instead of dealing with mines and metal actually provided food to other chaos dwarfs. They way they do it is by herding large groups of rhinox and other animals around and then when they are grown-up slaughter them to make food. Of course, herding a rhinox is not for the faint hearted and as food grows bad in the Dark lands I see the rhinox eating gnoblars and goblins as there prime food source so that meens battle to gather up allt hat food resources. What do you think?
Thats sounds great ,using wolfboyz and slaves to herd the rhinox but wouldnt we trade with hobbo nomads for food it would be a strange nomad cd to want to be a herder/hunter?
I tihnk of ocurse that "unintersting" things like wheat, vegetables etc would be traded from hobgoblins and humans but the main meat, red delicius rhinoxmeat is of course taking care of my hard CD. I see them not so much as herder but more like ranchers, that some times take a walk Happy
