Well, a different idea for a list combining ideas I've had in many places.
The idea is that it reflects a much more diverse empire better.
I'm not presenting this as finished in any way, but I would be curious to see what people thought of the concept of the supporting list. Whether its just impossible, or if there is a way to make this wok?
It may appear that I've just doubled the list, but when you look at it its quite restrictive really. The biggest problem IMO is the number of pages that would be needed to describe the rules for all these.
CORE
HOBGOBLINS. In this list you cannot ever have more than 3 units. Two units of Wolf riders (+1 hobgoblin infantry) narrows down that potential advantage a lot, and places the emphasis a lot more on warriors and blunderbussers.
SPECIAL
The idea behind taking 2 special slots is not to represent that they're really strong, just that they are more rare than you would find as a special choice.
So these units would just be there for variety really.
RARE
Putting the Hellcannon here is simple really as its 2 rare anyway. Keeping the Collossus here keeps it very rare, but still in the list.
LORD
Overlord (CD Lord)
High Sorcerer
HERO
Despot (CD Hero)
Sorcerer
Arcane Engineer
Priest
CORE
Chaos Dwarf Warriors
Blunderbussers
Monsters and Mercenaries
SPECIAL
Immortals
Brotherhood of Hashut (think religious longbeards with halberds)
Berserkers
Rocketeers
Battleragers (aka Iron Golems)
Monsters and Mercenaries
RARE
Bull Centaurs
Earthshaker
Monsters and Mercenaries
Monsters and Mercenaries
The Chaos Dwarfs rule an empire like no other; hundreds of tribes and mercenaries can be called upon to march to war at any time. As befitting such a diverse army, these units can be taken in varying numbers.
You cannot use up more choices than are allowed by the army list limitations.
CORE
Up to 3 units may be taken, these will not count towards the minimum units required.
* Hobgoblin infantry. (Unit size 10+)
* Sneaky Gits (requires a unit of regular Hobgoblin Infantry) (Unit size 10+)
* Hobgoblin Wolf Riders (requires a unit of regular Hobgoblin Infantry) (Unit size 5+)
SPECIAL
Up to 2 units may be taken. Each counts as two Special choices.
* Slave Ogres (0-1) Unit size (5+)
* Fire Bombers. Skirmishing unit with flaming bombs they throw (Unit Size 10-20)
* Slavers. Chaos Dwarf Scouts armed with 2 pistols. (Unit Size 10-20)
* Soul Reaper (daemonic ‘cannon’)
RARE
Up to 1 unit may be taken.
* Chaos Dwarf Hellcannon (2 rare choices)
* Collossus (2 rare and 1 special) 350 points etc
* Dogs of War
