By popular demand, the CDO Staff are pleased to announce our third
Golden Hat Painting Contest. This time, our theme will be
Hobgoblin Heroes! We don't care how you do it, but we want you to make a hobgoblin who clearly is sneakier, crueler, tougher, and more cunning than your average git. We also want you to have it converted, painted, and posted on or before
September 30th, 2007. Once the deadline has been reached, we will create a poll where members will be able to vote for their favourite, the winner being determined by who gets the most votes.
Don't forget that the winner will receive the coveted Golden Hat Medal!

Well if i find a spare model that i can use then i will try and enter.
Where would a hobgoblin find a war mammoth? Its more likely the mammoth would crush the hobgoblin.
I really want to enter this but all i ahvve to use are skaven night runners, a few bits of the NIght GOblin Fanatic sprue (mainly heads) , and rondom bits from other armies like wood elves and tomb kings. I dont know what im going to do since im not that good at using green stuff. I guess i ahve to learn sometime. Hmm. I kinda remember seeing some Skaven hobgolbins somewhere...
this is perfect on september 1st the games workshop by my house (mississauga on) is havin a warhammer filled day includin yup you guessed it a conversion contest (all models and bitz included)
The Square 1 location? What sort of contest is it? I live in Mississauga too. 
Is it going to be split between hobs on foot and hobs on wolves/hounds/mammoths? I.E. medal for best foot model & medal for best mounted?
No, just one category.
I think i might sit this one out actually. All i have to use is some Skaven bits and random bits from other armie like Wood Elves and Tomb Kings etc and i cant be bothered buying parts to make a hobgoblin. THe next one for a Chaos Dwarf model ill enter.
Dang. If only it weren't for my lack of time a holiday, no money and starting university. have to leave this one out. Will be great to watch it. Six weeks is MORE than enough time.

I'm having a go myself, although it's not turning out entirely as planned. I'll sit down and see how I can improve on the concept a bit more tonight.
If you have no upload space, it is difficult to attach an image to PM. Because PMs don't support image attachments, you almost have to make a topic with the attachments in them to get a URL to use IMG tags. Alternatively, as shown, you can sign up for a Photobucket account.
Mine's finally all converted, and I'm pleased with it. Now just to get it painted!
