Hmmm...
I have already got a Hoblin hero... the problem is... I my or mynot have stole...taken inspiration from one of Kytes HobGobs...
Ah well, its an excuse to maybe convert another...
hmmm... its not precised if he would be on foot or on mount...
so he may be mounted on war mammoth?

Does it have to look like 'classic' hobgoblin or can it just be based on one's own interpretation of a hobgoblin?
Unfortunately I've been too busy with work recently to accomplish any painting. And since my CD force doesn't include any hobgoblins I'm going to just sit this one out. I do check in pretty regularly and I'm going to enjoy watching everyone else's progress.

Is there some where we can check out previous Golden Hat entries so we can see the required standard? I don't wat to put up an entry that will be laughed at ***sniff*** as my last entry to UK golden deamon was!

try here: http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/wiki/index.p...Golden_Hat
and 'bout that u have write... its not properly spirit for Golden Hat...
I don't think anyone has ever laughed at or been mean bout any of the entries so far, and well over half of of them are far from Golden Daemon standard. I'd encourage anyone to enter, even if they don't think they have a chance at winning. A different style, technique, conversion, is always nice to see, even you don't think yours is anything special someone else will.
I have one of the old 5th Edition Hobgoblin Heros in my box. If I can find a game, he'll be my entry.
There was me thinking I was well behind. I've got all the bits for mine, still needs to be posed and greenstuffed, then the painting.
Mostly finished the greenstuff on mine, he still needs some feet though. And his hat could do with some sprucing up. Got a lady buying me some new sculpting tools as we speak, no more swiss army knife and cocktail stick!
Im in. Got the bitz, got an idea, think i got then time. Only problem is i still dont have a good camera!!! ARGH!! i have almost 500 points of dwarfs done and painted and i cant show it off! the agony!
I can sympathise my friend, I've finally got one but I'm having a nightmare getting decent pictures - the manual is incomprihensible! I nearly have my 2,000pts done and I want that medal damn it!

F*%k 'em - one of the reasons I only inhabit clubs and not GW stores and events these days is that there are some real gits in the hobby who will mock other people's work and have a go for no reason who are best avoided. Your work seems of a really nice standard to me - its clear you've put in a lot of time and effort into the models and it would be a shame if you let those who give our hobby a bad name disuade you from entering competitions. Measure yourself against yourself and aspire to the high standards of others. Xander and the staff quite rightly take a hard line on offensive critizism (kudos for that btw guys, it really helps contribute to the great community atmosphere of this site).
I've got two entries in the works. One is quite a heavy conversion I doubt I'll have done. The other is a fairly simple conversion I painted up recently and I quite like - It won't win but I'll enter it coz I like the model! I'm currently opperating a "only paints and modeling supplies" purchasing policy fro GW at the moment - its bitz box and GS alone for me from now on. Luckily after 12 years in the hobby my resources aren't too limitd by this.
Alright, I've finished (more or less) sculpting my guy; he's almost scratchbuilt. Now, to the painting. For the first time I will be using a white undercoat, so I'll see how that works out.
Not sure mine will be painted on time, I'll enter whatever I have done.
Finished! Pictures have been sent. (to Xander)
Xander, you have a new message.

Only just managed to scrape my entry in on time. Been a very tight deadline for me and the pics didn't come out great (no proper daylight!) so few of the highlights are visible but I'm pleased with the composition.
Hi just pm mine to Xander but took 30 pics and still couldnt get a good one ,i cant wait too see the entries particularly Ishkurs

Gah! You're not allowed to post them! Quickly, edit it out!
Or does it not make a difference at this stage?
Well I'd say since we're past the deadline, it doesn't matter if he posts his entry here. After all he's not trying to influence anyone - are you Canix!

Hi ,he he,not much wow factor to lose i dont expect to win with a simple conversion like this and couldnt finish painting him but just want to be part of it .I thought you could post them here if you wanted ,i am never sure if i have pressed the right buttons to pm it.

Sneaky, sneaky who you calling sneaky he he
