I was thinking last night as I was driving home from Games Workshop store here in the local area, and had a rather stark and brilliant idea that fit in for the Chaos Dwarf fluff for a new model type or unit
Basically the idea is you have a single model, say like an assassin or whatnot, that is 'Hidden' within a unit. For all purposes we'll consider this model to be something akin to a combustion engine piston based mechanical and very archaic looking Chaos Dwarf.
Now, the idea of the function of this was actually very startling to me. Lets say you have a unit of Greenskins, or maybe regular Chaos Dwarfs. Lets say the unit loses the fight and then flees. Now, you have two options with said model that I was thinking about.
1: The Model goes into a frenzy, lashing out at everything as it's "Self-Destruct" Sequence is triggered, kills everything that it can, and then blows up, doing a 3 inch template trigger. I figured maybe 2-3 attacks at WS 4 Str 4 suffice for the melee. Explosion is up to debate
2: The Thing just explodes. 5 Inch Template. So if your unit 'flees', then the unit would move into the range of the template where yours was, halt, get blasted to smithereens, and then possibly flee.
Now, the reason why this is fitting in Chaos Dwarf Fluff to me is because it's unique in the factor that you can have a unit be 'Rewarded' for it's cowardice. For greenskins, this would be especially proper. But for Chaos Dwarfs fleeing from the battlefield, it would be a punishment for the ultimate dishonor.
