Maybe we can convince GW to keep manufacturing them. I live in the states and heck, I might buy them from GWUK!
Edit: I check out Gwus and they have a full BC for 12. A unit of five is sixty dollars! Tempting but ouch!

It's pretty good, I've seen it before, it's mad how sometimes CDs that are still available go for higher prices on ebay.

Thanks for posting this! Very Handy indeed.

Whatever you do STAY AWAY FROM A SELLER CALLED ESSEX GIRL when buying on ebay. She is wrecking the hobby for people that collect CD. She buys everything and sells it for amazingly rip off prices

She sells about 5 bull centaurs for £80! How can you do that!! I really dont like her.

I wonder if she buys them direct from GW and sells them on, pretending that they are OOP or rare

Cheers for the article, It could be very usful if I even buy my CDs off ebay.
Most of the time, its just as easy to get off the online store and you know that you're not being ripped off.
OR... Just convert them you lazy so-and-sos.

The online store doesnt sell all the models though. Ebay, at one time or another, does.

Fair point, but with the unreliabilty and often high cost...

08-18-2007, 05:53 AM
Not everything is high cost. Most of the time it is cheaper than buying from GW unless it is bull centaurs. And most people on ebay are reliable. I have had very few problems and i have bought my whole army off of ebay from many different sellers.

Models like the Bolt Thrower and the Death Rocket can be bought for very cheap sometimes. I once forgot to bid on a Bolt Thrower and it ended up going for only £1!!!!! Death Rockets you could get for about £4 maybe. The Earthshaker is never easy to get. It always goes for quite a lot. At the least you could get one for £10. Some shops might sell it for £20. The Essex Girl obviously sells it for £30.
EDIT: Actually i was wrong. She sells it for £35. And the whirlwind for £50..... Mine only cost me £13!!

I totally agree, she's very rude also. I tried asking her a question about prices once and I got a very offensive reply.

Well going against everything i believe in i am trying to sort out a deal with the dreaded essex girl, who is called trish btw. Since no one else has any spare Whirlwind parts i thought if anyone has any spare parts then she will and it turns out she has one of the main scythes and a wheel scythe. Im just waiting for her to propose a price and since she sells the tenderiser for £50 i doubt i am going to like what she proposes.
08-19-2007, 09:02 AM
She is asking me to make an offer.
"Please make make a sensible offer for the items, bearing mind the rarity of these items.
Many thanks,
Trish"
Its only for a wheel scythe and a blade for the Whirlwind. What sould i offer her? She probably wants about £8 which is way more than im willing to pay. I would say something like £2.50.

Oh. My. God. Heres her reply:
"Thanks for the offer, but on this occasion I think I will hang onto them for the future as I often pick them up with bits missing and I tend to sell them for a minimum of ten times what you are offering for the spare!
Thanks anyway,
theessexgirl"
So for something worth £2 - £3 she wanted ten times that. What a bitch!! RRRRRRRRR
My Reply: "Good Luck trying to sell loved minitures at extortionate prices. "
EDIT: I got a reply and she thinks she is giving people a fair deal by selling her minitures at such high prices. She even has a miniture on now for over £700!!!!!!!!!

But then if we tell everyone that theres something on ebay we will all bid for it and it will go up really high and the person that first told everyone probably wanted it. It foy utell everyone then you have no chance at getting it.
Heres the Essex Girls latest reply:
"I am sorry you feel like that, but you always have the option to go elsewhere and good ridens. Looks like a lucky escape on by behalf! Good luck finder the spares you seek for nothing."
(She has really bad spelling). I think im the lucky one if she wanted £20 for two spare parts!! Should i reply? Or should i just drop it? Someone should make a banner that we can use that says Beware! The Essex Girl! With a link to her shop for examples.
