i personally like the Nagash model

Why? It really is an awful, awful model. Given the scale, the thing just looks like a kid in a suit or something. The anatomy is a total mess, the head doesn't actually look like a skull, the posing is stiff and lifeless...I could go on...

Never mind that this guy is supposed to be one of the most awe-inspiring characters in the entire background too Rolleyes

Ah, let's not forget the current korxigors, which are just horrendous. Oh, and the BFSP models, which only become decent when they're covered in green stuff and turned into Dawi'Zharr Wink
I've heard some people say (gasp) Chaos Dwarfs due to the hats. Not sure I totally agree. I love chaos dwarfs, but I'm on the Marauder style, 3rd edition mask/helmet camp. The hats don't make the sculpts look bad, just odd, at least to me and others I've encountered. But hey if you like um, have at it I say.

Don't get me wrong: I love Chaos Dwarfs, but there has to be some reason for their lack of popularity, not necessarily a bad thing, as it will be fun to drop them down and watch my opponents jaw drop. For me I can't quite figure it as the army list kicks major butt!

Nagash would be up there for me. I also thought the Skaven Doom Wheel was rather lame in appearance and its rules, same could be said for the Skaven Screaming Bell. Rolleyes

I actually like those ogres better then the current beergut man boob train wreck of figures that are currently out now.

So they're fat people... get over it. They might have a style you dislike, but that doesn't mean they aren't sculpted well.

And they're really effing cheap. A single box of Bulls for $40 is around 250pts.

Nothing really to get over. Fat has nothing to do with it. I simply don't like the figures for the reasons I stated... <shrug>

what about the comedy goblin spearmen you got from the old (old) WHFB boxed set that had gobbos & High elves.  Them buggers drew blood if you weren't carefull where you put your elbow whilst enjoying a bacon butty over a quick battle!

No kidding those little buggers could pierce through skin simply by picking them up.

Galrauch, that god-awful chaos dragon.  I only know it's a dragon because it says on the box.  It looks like a stick thats been used to play fetch with some mentaly disturbed mountain lions on crack.  All be it a colorful one!

I think the sculpt is good personally, but the colors are off. Blue and Red as a primary scheme? Ugh.

Eh? are we looking at the same dragon/stick/mess? It seems beauty really is in the eye of the beholder.

It's terrible!  Why does it's tail stick out at a wierd angle under it's head? oh that's another head is it?, and them claws waving about behind it's back are rediculously out of proportion, what's that? wings you say? I guess they could be.  Are you sure it's a dragon? it looks more like a chaos tree to me.

Not since looking at my (much) younger brother's drawings have I looked at something and said "What is it?"

Rubbish. Plain Rubbish.

So much better that the old metal one (which in fact is also a horrible sculpt)

Agreed and agreed Takes Hat off

I will counter with this. Some people look at CDs with tall hats and see the greatest thing since sliced bread. I look at them and see the reason why they failed in the GW marketspace.

Its all relative.

AAARGH BLASPHEMY!! LOL,

I see what you are saying and I concur.  That's why they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, one man's garbage is another man's treasure etc, etc.

Agreed. I will say this: your response is what makes this site great and separates it from the rest: people can actually have a dialouge and even disagree (shocking) without it degenerating into flame wars. Bravo! Other sites i frequent could learn a thing or two from this community. May it always stay that way.

Possible. That is why I'm heavily modifying mine.

Yes thats why I said minotaurs but also I dont think they actually fit in with what minotaurs should look like. Should be more like bulls, more stocky and well built, they are too, well un-minotaurish. They should be stocky and mean and easier to convert into ogrish bull daemons for my own purposes (ogre ironguts?).

Its bad when I can still use my 1985 Games Workshop ninjas led ofc by a Ninja CD, dwarfs and duellists PDF goodness Happy and they still look better than alot of the present minis.

My two cents, throw in some hobbos for free ha Takes Hat off
I just think it's funny that this thread has lasted a lot longer than the 'favourite miniature' thread!!

We are a bunch of cynics, negative to the bone! and we all enjoy moaning!!
