Disappointing, but I'm pretty certain it's just a standard response. That or it's just another sign of the changing GW. I wish I could dig up info on that Rogue Trader project I mentioned. The problem (as I said before) was one of artwork copyright, rather than the plain text.

Did you address your mail to the legal department by any chance?

Steve
The legal service are one group to try, but I would also advise e-mailing Games Developers. They tend to be more sympathetic to hobbyists  then the "company people." I remember one Games Day seminar, when head office told Phil Kelly he couldn't have any pictures of the (then) new terminators to show in the presentation because they were pissed at Warseer for putting pics of them up. Phil just went straight on to Warseer and used the pictures from there, gaining my eternal respect in the process. if you can get the e-mail f the people who actually wrote the book, it might be helpful. You can normally find these addresses in old issues of White Dwarf, just look in things like Chapter Approved and Warhammer Chronicles

I was rather hoping that since it has been out of print for so long the copyright might have expired on it.  Oh well...

Guess i'll just have to try eBay Angry

Unfortunately it takes somewhere between 60 to 100 years for the author to be dead before a copyright runs out, depending on the country of origin. Think it might be quicker to save up to buy one off ebay.

It's worse if the author or copyright holder is a company, which can stretch into perpetuity if they so will it. Meaning that it'll forever be in copyright.

I just made a deal for a copy on Bartertown. I had one guy(in the USA) and another (in UK I think) offer me copies for a good price ($10 USA). So Bartertown is a good place to advertise if you need one. I could even try to get you in touch with these guys if you are interested.

HAIL HASHUT!!
Two users at Bartertown have offered a copy for sale. "Steve H." from the USA and "Khorgoth Corpseheart" from the UK, I think. I posted an ad asking for a copy and got 3 responses with in a few days, all for a reasonable price.

I sure wish we could make a PDF to share with all our members.(I know we can't!) Im sure there are alot of loyal Chaos Dwarves here that would like to delve into our dark & glorious history!!!
you could probebly get it from one of the download sites (the new ork codex is out on one of them)
I was also considering getting WD presents Chaos Dwarfs but the ones from amazon.uk are far too expensive.
I'm getting 2 copies!!!Happy
Maybe I'll put one in the Market Place.Evil idea

Or offer one to the CDO member who offers me the most slaves!!!Cheers!
What? Really? Heck, for a copy of White Dwarf Presents you can have all of my slaves. Just take 'em! Big Grin

Well, let me get it in my hands first. I wish there was a way to share with all the CDO members.
I only need one copy for myself, no point in two. I'd probably just sell it for cost/shipping.(not a profit)
Or for the member who offers me the most slaves!
Or maybe just donate it to CDO for a Golden Hat prize.

Ive got the old army book that contains everything , normally see them on ebay.
