Holy s*** you fixed the Lammassu! Awesome work, that medal is fully deserved, so hurry up and get it
Thanks AGPO. So close to a 1,000 point medal I can "taste it" (although rumor has it they don't taste that good!)
I'm going to hold off with pics of the Taurus Rider and Taurus as:
1) I still have to order another set of plastic dragon wings. Have to go through the adventure of GW mail order yet again <grumble, grumble...>
2) The rider only has one weapon attached and no green stuffing done at this stage. His helm has been pinned and glues and will look very good IMUO! Sadly for the hatters out there his stove pipe has been hacked off!
Assuming you mean the rider? Yeah I noticed them too after photographing them. So I did a bit of filing after the fact. Interestingly enough I noticed some mold lines on the orcs as well.
UPDATE
Sorry HB, I know you only wanted to see it went fully done, but how about 95%? I still have to add some static grass, but for the most part the model is now complete. I don't often say this but the pictures do not do this justice, it came out really well IMHO.
I will add another set of pictures for this model once I do the banners and finish the grass on the base; admittedly I haven't given the banners much thought yet so it may take a while to do.
The reds and oranges give it a very fiery feel to it I think. I'm glad I did this one first as it gave me some good insight on assembly and some things I'm more willing to add to the Taurus.
Speaking of the Taurus, next up may be the Taurus, I just got my wings that were on back-order today. So while waiting in vain for the base of the Lammasu to dry I stripped the old paint job off of it, and glued the wings, bent the horns and glued the rock for the base to the 50 mm base.
Next unit of Chaos Dwarfs to green stuff is up to, plus formulating ideas for the blundies. However, I may work on the BCs next instead, or maybe even the super secret Death Rocket I've been hinting at!
Stay Tuned!
Aww thanks guys. One reason I have been working so hard on them is that 1) I want to inspire others to work/complete their CD armies and 2) to not disappoint all of you following the army blog!
Since its Super Bowl Sunday I don't imagine I'll be getting much done tonight so I might have to wait until Monday night to resume work on the army.
Thanks HB and Clam!
UPDATE
No new pics, sorry. The next units I'm keeping under wraps until they are done. I did not paint tonight, but I did sculpt. I got quite a bit done, but neither are finished. The only details I'll let slip is this: I worked on the Taurus AND the Bull Centaurs! Mainly the Bull Centaurs. I'd say i got about 60% of the way there with sculpting. I didn't like some of the heads and did some swaps, as well as tinker with a few poses and hands here and there, but enough said, for now...
I am taking work in progress pics thou, so when I do finish them I will have a bunch of photos all at once. Stay Tuned.
Also as noted in the thread about the look of Immortals I have been formulating some ideas regarding them.
UPDATE
Work on my BCs and Taurus could now be seriously threatened. Damn you Ishkur!
Here is some concept art fully inspired by Ishkur from his army blog and the tread regarding Chaos Sorcerers and Petrification! as discussed here:
http://www.chaos-dwarfs.com/forum/showth...p?tid=1887
If it comes together I might even make the helm for the petrified sorceror in the same basic shape as the "tall hats" as noted in my sketch I have a bit for it in mind. Funny thing is the bit is from the classic throne bearers. It was part of one of the bearers then I cut it off. Next stop was for the BCs, didn't like it there, cut it off again. Next was dry fitting it for either the tenderizer or the whirwind. That didn't work either. So maybe 4th time is the charm.
Hehe, that's great - I like it a lot!

Rules-wise the bearers could simply be a part of the unit, and the sorceror statue count as a magic battle standard. No new rules would need to be invented, AND it would be very chaos-dwarfy. Go ahead Willmark!
Yep thats the plan same thing I did with my general and his throne bearers.
UPDATE
Bull Centaurs are now about 90% of the way done in terms of green stuff. Painting might start as early as tomorrow night. No pics it will be a suprise!
I also worked on my count as army standard. As noted above working on my general with his bearers first was invalueable in terms of experience. It also gives me a pretty good idea of how to do the bearers. The standard is about 50% done in my estimation. I debated doing a full green stuff sculpt but decided for a gray and green. Still not ready to go all Ishkur or Grimstonefire in terms of full scale sculpting!
With that being said I am getting more and more confidant in my green stuff skills. Seems last night I really "turned a corner" and it made more and more sense for detaling with my sculpting tool.
I can't tell how much fun this army has been!
BCs are nearing completion in the sculpting phase> the front rank is 99% done, the back only needs a bit more then its off to the paint shop. Want to see pics...... Keep Waiting!
UPDATE: AS of 2:36 PM the Bull Centaurs are done! Off to be primed!
Also the Count as Army standard is about 95% done being sculpted. Only need to add a bit more, but have to wait for parts of it to to dry. Lots of work into just the standard! Yikes.
Taurus is on the back burner but now stripped of paint as well as wings attached and green stuffed.
Progress updates
Still toiling away in the man cave on the latest parts to the army.
1) Progress on the Bull Centaurs. All are now about 33% finished in terms of painting. I'm painting all at the same time. Only potential stumbling block is the banner. I'm not sure just what I'm going to paint for them.
2) I have my count as army standard done. Now I need to get some bearers created, though with the GW online store in its current state that will prove difficult.
On a personal note, 1,000 bronze medal! The army is now at 1,725 points actually with the addition of my lammasu. The BCs will push me over 2,000!
Photo updates may happen this weekend. Stay tuned.
Progress Update
I actually have my test Bull Centaur completed at this stage of the game only 9 more to go.
Looks like the count as army standard with be on the back burner for a bit, because of two reasons. 1) GW online store not up yet. 2) Golden Hat V
Last night I didn't get as much done as I wanted. I was looking through my army project notes and noticed some notations I made regarding the bases for the bolt throwers... So much cutting and hacking later each is on their own 40mm base. Each now fits into the scenic base, but now can be removed. I would have put them on 50mm bases but that would have required far to much rework to the scenic bases. As it is I have to do a small bit of repainting, but nothing too major.
UPDATE
First off sorry, this is not the update that everyone is waiting for (i.e. the shots of the bull Centaurs). They are still being painted, although I didn't get much done last night as I had to work at my part time job. Also the diversion of "fixing" the bolt throwers bases is nearly done (should only take ten minutes to finish up). I'll post some shots of those to show what I did to change them which wasn't to much but required hacking through a bunch of bases a a crap-load of glue!
However, they are coming along nicely, all except the banner which is going to undergo some minor changes; still have to think up an image for it thou.
Since this came up in another thread i figured I'd share it with you: The earliest stages to my Death rocket. Not much done but you can see the direction it will be going:
UPDATE
Here are the changes that I made to the bolt throwers. As noted nothing too exciting but should be useful when deployed. I.e. I can remove them from the scenic bases when terrain dictates...
More recruits arrived in the mail: lazy slaves... their under coat needs to be finished or its latrine duties for these slackers! (one teaser note... the base that can be just seen in the upper left corner.... thats the base for the WIP Taurus!)
Lastly, since I know there are some folks on the site who usually spot stuff in the background of photos: I present my Bull Centaurs! Had to move them when I took the last round of photos!
In all seriousness, depending on tonights painting session, I might have them near done on Sunday. If that happens look for photos late Sunday night...
Although my Golden Hat V entry is taking up some initial design time right now.
LMAO!
Only reason for the teases is that I don't have them finished! I still dont; I painted them quite a bit last night, but they are still not done. Right now they are my sole painting focus. Finishing them tonight is optimistic thou. I think I can finish 7 BCs plus the leader. But don't think I can finish the standard bearer and musician. They both need a lot more detail work.
Thanks guys. The camera is really making these guys look like crap! So I'm getting a new Kodak Z710 10x zoom 6.1 MP. Need it for upcoming vacation... Plus GHV

Thanks for your views/comments/constructive criticism guys! The biggest problem is I'm using a POS 1.3 MP camera that is old like 8 years old. Looks like the the new camera is a go.
Good point Cornixt I was using gifs for the upload speeds. I'll try jpegs. Better camera will make them look much better I'm thinking thou too

Again thanks guys!
Khan: They actually have a great deal of shading. I used a dark red washes for the shadow areas and orange for highlights. Its just you can't see it in the photos! <grumble, grumble>

. The best look is the the last shot, its is a faitly accurate representation, except those damn reds washing out in the pic again.
Clam: Thanks Dude, hopefully worth the wait!
To all- Still plenty more to come:
Banners for the BC
Banners for the Lammasu
10 Hobbo archers
Golden Hat V entry
10 Hobbo wolf riders
20 CD warriors
15 Blundies
Count as army standard
I will obviously be working on the my GHV entry, but think that 20 CD warriors and Count as army standard are next, maybe squeezing in the hobbo archers since there are only 10 of them.
AGPO its pretty minor, and you're right its something in homage to Boar Centaurs. Hint its the lower half what do some of them have that the boar models lower halves have...?
Real easy guys and quite a minor one.... ready for it, notice the sheathed swords o some of them just like the boar centaurs? I was looking at them on the sprues and said hmmm just like boar centaurs....told ya it was minor!? And um fairly insignificant... :/
Edit: For those following the blog there will be a 1 week (less than that now) pause in the army blog. And here is the reason:
