More minor updates.

Had a tiny blob of putty left after some sculpting so decided to add a teeny rune of Hashut to the bull head on the BC banner:

RE: Dînadan's blog (updated 23/11/13)Dînadan 11-24-2013

Played my first game with this army tonight using the fandex mentioned in my first post against Brets (unfortunately I forgot to take pics so can't give a full turn by turn battle report), and got completely annihilated.  By the end of turn one, I had lost a bull centaur and four warriors and my opponent had lost a mere two peasants.  All seven models were killed by my opponent Sad. By the end of turn five I only had a Sorcerer-Prophet and a Daemonsmith left and by the end of turn six they were both dead.

Still it was an enjoyable game, and my biggest problem was extremely poor rolling more than anything.  Also, in hindsight I could probably have bunkered up a bit tighter; on my side of the board was a small cottage and two hedges forming a _| shape and I'd deployed my blunderbusses behind the hedge parallel to my board edge to benefit from the defensive position with the warriors protecting their left flank and the bull centaurs deployed alongside the stable between it and a rocky outcrop; in hindsight I think I should have deployed the blunderbusses where I'd deployed the BCs, the warriors behind the stable (where their flanks would be protected by the stable and the board edge) and tried to squeeze the BCs in between the blunderbusses and the short board edge to flank charge anyone going after the blunderbusses.

Thanks Fuggit Happy

Found some of the BfSP goblins when I was tidying up my painting room Sunday, so may have a go at converting them into hobgoblins at some point.  Have also bitz ordered some thing to try and kitbash a Dreadquake, so hopefully will have some pics of that up soon.

I'm looking forward to seeing those faces painted. Sculpting a face is pretty hard, with some paint they're gonna look great.

Nothing like completly unique characters.

RE: Dînadan's blog (updated 23/11/13)Dînadan 11-27-2013

Thanks Bloodbeard Happy.  Sculpting faces isn't too hard I find; I think the key is to take you're time while doing it.  With the faces on the above minis what I did was do a very basic face, using a bladed sculpting tool and gently pressing in lines for the mouth and eyes, then gently pushing the putty arround to get the lips, nose and more defined eyes and the using the other end of the standard GW sculpting tool to pressing the cheeks.  Leave that to dry, then do the beard.  When that's done, use a small sausage of putty for the lower lip.  When that's dry, another one for the upper lip.  Leave to dry, and add some more putty to do the nose, leave to dry again and add some more for the brow and if need cheeks.

For anyone looking to develop their sculpting skills, I highly recommend getting one of the tool sets from Heresy Miniatures - having a variety of tools helps a lot Wink

Thanks - just toying arround with how exactly to put it together now.  One idea I've got which I probably won't use is to have it firing down at the ground, so that instead of lobbing shells, it instead fires some sort of daemonic burrowing device.
