Agree, that's the best part about smaller scales IMO. The area we used for Frostgrave could have been a few cm bigger, but for non competitive games it doesn't matter that much, its rather a how "intense" game you want. Do you play Warmaster with your 10mm force, or how do you use them?

No games at all for my 10mm CD's, nor any in any foreseeable future.  I got them purely because I wanted them.

Was asked elsewhere about how the Tjubgobs scaled towards other 15mm miniatures. So here is a: Demonworld Goblin, Tjubgob, Demonworl Orc, Tjubling.

RE: tjub's blogtjub 08-05-2019

Lately Ive been thinking a lot about making some terrain based on Ian Millers fantastic artwork. But that will require some planning, and though good looking not be as playable as Id prefer. So yesterday I just kinda started on a  Chaos Dwarf castle. The aim is to use it in Kings of War Seiges as well as KoW Vanguard and other skirmish rules.

So far Ive just built a "skeleton" and chopped up 200000 bricks. But I do love how doable it all is in smaller scales. So far an evenings work... Takes Hat off

Btw, the wall sections will be about 6cm thick to allow units to be places on them. But Ill extend the last part with a wooden deck.

Attention to detail is everything and doing all the nitty-gritty bits can take up a lot of time.

When are you going to round the corners on all the bricks?

Abecedar, now you made me wonder if one could easily add wear to those bricks, if you mixed them with gravel and shook it a lot. Worth a try with a small part of the bricks, tjub? You can be a pioneer in the field here, hehe.

Haha, that's one crazy idea... Its 15mm so it won't make that much of a difference. Tongue
Sure Ill add bricks and details to it, but not at an insane level. I want to finish and game on it.

Jupp, hehe... I guess it could be done, but I doubt its worth all the extra work. Sure if it was to be a show piece somewhere. But this is for gaming. So I aim for a satisfying level och detail, not over the top! Tongue

Looks like a good castle to me. Do you think the walls should be a bit higher though? I always think model castles look a it low compared to when you stand under or on top of the ramparts of a real castle? Could just be perspective though, I have never measured one.

Anyway, as you say you want to game with it, so looks as if it will do the job. Will be good to see it finished and lined with Tjublings and or Tjub-gobs or see them assaulting it, or both?

Thanks, maybe I guess. But then again the whole design is done to be able o game with it. Atleast its a bit higher than a giant. Happy

Finished the gate section, each wall holds a "legion" worth of troops for KoW.

Great gatehouse. This castle will be awesome. As for height, the walls are as tall as they need to be if a giant can’t get over them.[/u]

What a beautiful bit of scenery! Looks fantastic. Love the way that the blocks kinda protrude and stick out at slightly off angles - makes the castle have a very fantasy and characterful look about it.

It looks really good - you maybe doing something like this anyway but I use a tube of No More Gaps when I scratch build something usually - to add strength and give it a solid cast appearance - water it down a little massage it into the gaps then wipe down with a damp cloth  -  but painting as is would look cool too as stacked stone walls Happy

Soooo cool. Awesome castle. Hey you could have some flaming braziers in the center of the towers. Even Tjubgobs might get cold in Scandinavia.
