I dislike the look of him he dosen't look like a doctor more like a villain oh well wonder if he'll pull off what David Tennant did so well

I found this http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00...n_Doctors/ (around 24mins you see the new guy)

RE: New Doctor (number 11)AGPO 01-05-2009

Don't forget people were unhappy with Tennant when he was first announced. Matt Smith was brilliant in Party Animals (a UK political comedy for those off our shores). People were up in arms about Billie Piper, then when Freema Agemann was brought in people asked if she could ever replace Rose. I won't even start on the whole Tait hate thing...

People are over-protective about Doctor Who, mind you I suppose its all about childhood memories, look at Harry Potter. Give Smith a chance, he might just bring something fantastic to the series

Aren't they running out of reincarnations?

Are they eventually going to ret-con so he has more lives or just reboot? As they've gone through three doctors over the last few years (counting the new one), right?

Either 12 or 13. I can't remember.

Maybe he's the alien type of batman. Awesome gizmos, and a refusal to use a gun?

Though with that one Gizmo, I'm wondering if he really needs one. Though it might be better to ask why he doesn't have Kevlar or some sort of futuristic equivalent. He might be able to regenerate, but no sense in not having protection from some of the harm that could befall him.

RE: New Doctor Who (number 11)AGPO 01-05-2009

Yeah but there's loads of inconsistencies in the series, so they'll just gloss over it. The Batman comparison is quite a good one. A soldier the Doctor ain't, it just isn't his way to go round shooting things up

RE: New Doctor Who (number 11)Father Grumpmas 01-05-2009

Dr Who ceased being relevant decades ago - it's just coasting on the memories of the golden age of Pertwee and Baker.

The last few series have been sentimental rubbish with poor scripts and inferior acting, with a forced ‘cool Britannia’ zaniness that falls completely flat.

The new guy looks like the bastard hybrid of Jarvis Cocker and Jamie Oliver. If I had a time machine I would go back to when he was a school kid and beat him up Tongue

LOL Grumpmas... I think that calls for some slaves for how wonderfully cruel that is.

I suppose it is relying a bit on the name. Same thing with the last two Trek movies, and Enterprise... *shudders*.

I think he is too young to have a decent range of acting skills.  At least with David Tennant we knew he was a good actor before he started.  This time it really is a case of Doctor 'who'?

I think Mark Warren would have made a brilliant Doctor
