I started to run out of ideas for this unit of 16 BFSP warriors. These guys started out as the long horn viking helmet guy with the axe over his head.

I sawed off the anvil pattern on their shields and flattened down the area using a file. I then glued an old VC skeleton emblem on the shields. The hammers came from the Dwarf Warriors. I also used clear tacks for hats. The GS armor will be added soon. I stil have @30 more guys to convert first.

Enjoy!

I dug out a load of SST whilst clearing my spare room, apparently some of it is quite sought after.

I have come up with this for a price guide after speaking to people on the Mongoose forums and checking ebay, feel free to make counter offers. If I'm way out on the valuations feel free to let me know. (I have taken some of the worthless bits out as I'll just keep those)

1 box of WASP troopers (nib, opened but not assembled) - £10

1 bigfoot painted - £20

1 bigfoot assembled but not painted - £25

1 nighthawk (painted) - £10

4 cougars (painted) - £75 (this puts them under silashand's minimum estimate)

1 tac uav (painted)- £10

Bugs:

Overseer (assembled but unpainted) £40

mantis (painted)£15

I also have 2 burrower bugs I forgot about, 1 painted 1 not. £7.50 each?

Skinnies: (all unpainted unless stated)

1 General (with 7 elite guard) - £20

1 Leader of slaves - £5

1 Lord - £10

1 Tyrant - £4

1 Warchief - £8

12 Guard (2 painted and 2 sprayed black) £20

25 Militia - £25

15 Raiders - £15

14 Slaves - £15

14 Soldiers - £15

8 Venerables - £15

4 x Warchief (NIB) £10 each

Like I say, I have tried to make these prices reasonable, I have based them mainly on the feedback then knocked a bit off.

P&P will vary depending on your location but I will try to keep as low as possible.

Pics can be arranged.
Cheers

Hi gang!

Well, I got my customers back playing Warhammer and we're all going through the book rules more closely and trying to get more familliar with the game as we are with Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons and Dragons. We still have a long way to go, but are getting better as we move along.

Anyway, I had a 750 point battle with the Orc and Goblin player and this is what I fielded:

Rare : Earth Shaker Cannon : 110 Points
Special : Death Rocket : 80 Points
             Sneaky Gits : 130 Points
Core : 2 Hobgoblin Bolt Throwers : 60 Points
         2 Blunder Buss units (10 Each) : 300 Points
Hero : Level 1 Sorcerer - Lore of Metal : 65 Points

The spell was the default.

Total Points - 745

What I faced :

Orcs and Goblins :

1 unit Black Orcs
1 unit Orcs with spears
1 Unit Orcs with 2 hand weapons
1 unit Goblin Archers
1 Black Orc Big Boss
1 Level 2 Shaman.

Terrain : 24" x 48". two hills, one on each side.
Set-up : CD Artillery units and sorcerer on the hill, BB's Sneaky gits and 2 Bolt throwers on level ground.
Orcs and Goblins : Sorcerer on hill, all other units on ground.

Highlights of the battle :

I won first turn and my Sneaky Gits got a 6 on Animosity and charged 6" forward. After that, I hard marched them an additional 8"es.

For the most part, @ 80%, The Earth Shaker, Death Rocket and Bolt Throwers all hit on target. The most effective was the Earth Shaker, imobilizing most of the Orcs.

The sneaky gits lost 5 members of their 20 man unit to Goblin archery, but managed to charge them on the second turn, wiping out 5 of their members in the first round of combat.

The archers took a panic test and fled off the table. Sneaky gits pursued them 5"es and in the next turn were flanked by the black Orcs.

I managed to kill off the Black Orc General with the Earth Shaker, thus forcing his units to take a Leadership test, which 50% failed and fled off the table.

The Black Orcs beat down my Sneaky gits and forced them off the table. this left them open to 1 bolt thrower and 1 unit of BB's. The second BT and BB units were in line with his remaining Orcs.

The Black Orcs were the first to get decimated. I killed them down to one Orc and that Orc fled of the table on a failed Leadership. The Orcs on the other side of the table ended up facing both BB's and 1 BT. It didn't fair well for them. They ended up with 4 Orcs in the end.

The only saving grace was the Orc Shaman who ended up scoring a sucessful "Stomp" on my Earth Shaker, Death Rocket and 1 BT unit. Before this, he was on the other side of the table on the opposing hill and I couldn't hit him with my Death Rocket or Earth Shaker. Only the shock waves were able to slow him down.

Once he had won the "Stomp", it forced me to move my BB units across the table. i hard marched them 6 inches to get to the centerline.

It was his turn next and all he had was the Shaman on the hill. He cast "Stomp" again, but rolled a Miscast and ended up stomping himself to death.

In the end, he sucessfully defeated 4 of my units and I ended up killing the rest or making them flee.

His final words were "What a perfectly Orcish way to die : Stomping yourself to death!"

All in all, it was a great battle and my first "Total Annihilation" ever.

My final thoughts are this :

This battle was basically the Warhammer equivalent of World War One with his troops marching into my artillery to their death. There was no hope for their survival. Also, when he was getting his winning streak with his "Stomp" that I failed to dispell, he should have targeted my sorcerer. He could have evened up his odds by destroying her and forcing me to roll for Leadership. Hopefully, my other future opponients will make this same mistake. Time will tell though. I'm sure a few are reading this post as we speak! :D

Just for fun, and to keep the game fresh, my main opponent and I have decided to play games with open-list "tourney" style armies, as opposed to the closed "opponent-specific" armies that we pass the time with. We agreed on 2500 points, since we're not actually going to any tourneys - I have an 8 month old... I go nowhere. :(

I have two other armies, but for the CDs, I'm using the GT Dwarfs of Chaos list. What I built is sort of.... wonky, I think, but the idea is to overwhelm the opponent in the shooting and magic phase, as the list contains 5 bound spells, a level four wizard; and 7 dispel dice, and 3 dispel scrolls.

- Lvl 4 High Priest on Lammasu, Daemon Bane, Scale Mail of Gazrakh, Helm of Azgorh

- Daemonsmith, shield, 2x Dispel scrolls

- Daemonsmith on Daemoneater, Shield of the Great Bull, Dispel Scroll

- 18x Annihilators w/ musician

- 20x CD Warriors - Shields, GW, Chaos Armour, Full Command, Banner of Daemonic Tides

- 20x CD Warriors - Shields, Full Command

- Earthshaker

- Death Rocket

- 4x Inferno Golems w/ Lava Fire (bound spell: 3)

- 30x Rabble (w/taskmaster)

- 30x Rabble (w/taskmaster)

-2x Hobgoblin Spearchukkas

- 10x Sneaky Gits

It's lacking much in the way of strength 6 attacks, or fast cavalry... It kills me that the Bull Centaurs aren't in there, but they're so pricy, and with their new and reduced LD of 8, I'm not convinced they've got the staying power to last in a magic-heavy (i.e. lower leadership) CD army.

Comments, gentle criticisms, suggestions? I'm far away from a tourney level player, but neither is my friend. Without going the 2 Earthshaker-8 bolt thrower route, is there something obvious I could do to improve this list?

So on the 07/03/10 i start my chaos dwarfs. I spent the time with local hobby legend and owner of a fantastic hobby store. As semi-professional sculptor i ask him to teach me the basic, right from the beginning. I've start with 8 years of hobby experience, only 3 of which is really been hardcore, yet basically no experience of converting or green stuff (beyond filling gaps). Any help is welcome and so are any constructive criticisms. Thank you for visiting my blog :hat off

I've start by creating a rough outline of the look i'm am trying to achieve.

From this i moved onto, starting my first unit. I decided on unit of 10 Blunderbusses. I wanted the front rank to have the that definitive pose, of them facing forward firing their weapons. This mean i had to cut away the bodies and when finished i will need to do entire body sculpts.

Here is an example of a blunderbuss design i considered using, i dropped this for the examples you can see in the above photos. So much simpler and i think, in the end, looking more gun/blunderbuss like.

By the end of this week, i aim to have finished making the unit. So expect more photos Sunday :cheers

Imo this is a cool guy - a kind of hybrid between a CD and a "ordinary" dwarf! ;)

Ok, heres a test of anyones musical knowledge.

Possibly now two years ago a song was popular on the radio (Here in the UK anyway) and consisted of lyrics which made mention of being in different places in the world in comparison to the person it was supposedly aimed at....

Something along the lines of, "when you were in.... we were in..." and the places were changed everytime, london-newyork or something similar

Anyone remember it, if so, what was it and can you name the band. I've been wanting to get it but cant remember anything else about it and it's vanished. Im pretty certain the lead singer was male. It also had a slightly synthisised pop feel to it.

Not much to go on but please anyone. Before my brain explodes.

I thought I'd post a picture of some of the Warriors I've painted so far... It might actually inspire me to keep going, as I'm normally the slowest painter in the plain of Zharr - and to be fair, I'm usually more of a gamer and less of a modeler.. but I want this army to stand out.

Anyhow, enjoy. Most of my wargaming friends just shake their head at my enthusiasm for Chaos Dwarfs, so it's nice to share with people who prefer bull centaurs over bolters.
